I've seen wire (safetywire I think) used on wrap before, it's smaller and hides better, but I don't think there's any problem with hose clamps either. And like you said, they'll be coated and won't be that noticable anyway.

The silicone coating is black, so it will all blend together.
I'm going to spray some spare pieces of wrap tonight to see how the coating looks. I'm thinking about NOT coating them now since they look so good, but I probably will.

Tom do the hose clamps stay (permanent) Or will you take them off when its finished? Not sure I like the looks of the clamps, if you need something to keep the ends from unraveling isn't there another less noticeable way?
Nice wrapping Tom, the wrap looks OK to me, and when painted should blend nicely. So far so good Tom, should be a big weekend for the install, can't wait for the pics

Here's a test piece that I coated. I think it looks really good, so I'm going to coat the rest of the exhaust pipes the same way.

I can still loosen and rotate the hose clamps if needed to hide the screw part.
I also installed the blow-off valve on the intake tube that runs between the turbo and the intercooler:
Attachment 35290 An O-ring is installed, and then the valve is held in place with a C-clamp.
The vacuum line runs up and tees into the fuel pressure regulator's vacuum line. I will also tee the boost/vacuum gauge off this line to get an accurate reading to the gauge.
I'm still not 100% sure what the difference is between the blow-off valve and the wastegate.
I know the blow-off valve is vacuum controlled and the wastegate is controlled by the exhaust - but I really don't know their exact functions.

The waste gate controls your boost level by "venting" once you reach your spring level and your BOV expels excess boost once you let off the throttle so you avoid compressor surge.
And the waste gate has a spring set to open when a pre-determined psi is reached?
So the BOV opens at full vacuum (off the gas) to expel excess boost coming back from the throttle body, and closes as vacuum decreases (on the gas more and more) to send all the boost to the throttle body?

That makes sense... it's like a switch (and not variable).
That's another thing I wondered about - what makes the "turbo" sound. So it's the BOV and not the wastegate?

The BOV - or blow off valve is exactly what has been stated. I pressure relief to expell excess air pressure build up when the t-body slams shut and the turbo has no place to push the sir it was just producing. You will find our kit does not make a ton of turbo noise as we size the BOV to move a ton of air on decell.
