$300 for 99-04 lightning, 03/04 cobra, or any naturally aspirated bolt on car 99-08 (Mustang)
Power adder cars 99-04: $400-500
Power adder cars 05-08: $600-700
Shelby GT500: $400-500

Yes! I was going to call you but my cell died...

I rotated it down to the 6 o'clock position and it did seem to run better. Not perfect, but better. Sounds awesome getting off the gas with that BOV and some sort of growl... the car sounds evil. I'm still staying out of boost for the most part and haven't taken it over 3500 RPM.

I changed to the HT0 plugs today.

I'm no spark plug reader expert, but do you think the current tune is rich?

Any "wetness" is the penitrating lube I used to break those suckers loose. Man, they were tight and fought me every millimeter of the way out.

Better rich than lean, I guess?

One question for anybody... will that foul my new plugs on the 1 hour drive to Melbourne? Or will they still be OK after the tune is better?

Like I said... not really a spark plug expert... Only know that I don't want to have to replace $10 plugs so soon!

 

Rich is certainly better than lean. You can run rich and get away with it, running lean is very dangerous.

 

How about the 1 hour drive with the new plugs and the rich condition? I would hate to damage $10 plugs so quickly.

 

Honestly you could use those other plugs. You haven't hurt them at all. When you lean out the tune it will burn off all of the black deposits.

 

Those are stock plugs. He's going with the HTOs now.

Yea you will be fine with those on your way to the dyno.

I'm having to explain this everywhere!

There was a snag with the dyno shop (not with the tuner). The dyno wasn't available yesterday.

We're trying for an evening session sometime this week. Either that, or I'll have to wait until next weekend. Hopefully not much longer than that.

Oh well... Good things come to those who wait!

 

UPDATE:

Scott had me modify the tune slightly to help with the bogging until we can meet for the custom tune.

The clocking of the MAF, the new plugs gapped to .028", and the modified tune helped out quite a bit! Still not perfect, but much better. I had a surging idle, but that was my fault - I left the vacuum line disconnected at the top of the intake during the spark plug change-out.

I was worried about gas mileage with the 39 lb/hr injector upgrade, but with the cruise set at 55mph I was averaging 29.6 MPG.

I know when I hit boost that will all change, but J.R. told me that gas mileage at normal driving and cruising wouldn't suffer - boy was he right! It's even better. And that's what Scott told me - he'd get my mileage back, "and then some".

I'm still waiting to really get on it until Scott dials it in - but it feels strong.

I'll be taking the car on it's first long drive tomorrow to work (as long as it doesn't show signs of rain).

That's why I haven't driven it - the Shaker is off and I don't want to put it back on until after the custom tune.

 

Haven't seen much rain lately, should be set.

 

When I drive with a hole in my hood, just watch how much it rains!
