Is this a fuel issue?

My engine has been shutting off by itself today, and once a couple days ago.
It always happened when I was turning (slowly). What happens is, the rpm drop to 500 dead on (my idle is 750) and there is no sound like it is off. sometimes it jumps back to 750 and idles normally, but the other times it flutters below 500 and then shuts off. it's friggin weird

I wanted to know what you guys think the problem might be before I leave it at the dealer and have to deal with them. Maybe it's a fuel pump going bad? I don't think it's the gas because I filled up today and it did it three times, and once before i filled up.

in other news, the water pump and pulley go in tomorrow

I'm not sure what your problem is...Could be a tuning issue or a lot of things for that matter. I would suggest however that you fix the issue before adding more mod's. that way you don't throw additional variables into the mix that my hamper getting to the bottom of your problem. Just my opinion...Good luck getting her fixed, maybe others can chime in that have had a similar problem.

This is in an auto I'm guessing? You might have a bad ground, my car did that when I was messing with the grounds while putting on the window switch.

hmm.... i will definitly check some grounds tomorrow then, namely the one on the starter, since that is the only one that has been moved by my hand. That kinda makes sense too... a loose wire hitting the frame when i turn...

Thanks!!

I'll take a picture of the ground I was removing when it was doing it for me. It's the one by the battery and theres a bunch of wires that ground out there.

Sounds like an issue with your tune. Several of us have had the same issue, especially w/ the XCal. Who wrote your tune?

I talked w/ Brent at Brenspeed. He told me there's a way to adjust how fast the rpms drop, something about bringing in too much air.

Mine is too. He's offered to fix it, I'm just too lazy to get it in the mail. Let me know how you make out.

Is there a way we can use the SCT to change this ourselves?

My dealer diagnosed me with a faulty throttly body as my car keeps stalling. The only way for me to "prevent" this is to disconnect the battery so the car will "force" the idle to not stall as it re-learns. I've had my SCT2/C&L for several months and nothing has happened til I lost my clutch a few weeks ago, then my clutch switch went, and now the throttle body. I'm hoping the dealer that replaced my clutch retightend my midpipe all the way... I get so paranoid when other people work on my car and I'm not there.

Oh man it is getting really weird now.... yesterday it would stay at 500rpm, then bounce to about 1000, then go back to 500 for a few seconds (probably 4 or so) and then bounce back to 1000..... i reloaded the tune and it seems to be okay now, but what could be causing this???
