FRPP / Whipple Supercharger Install.....
well the ECU arrived, BUT, the installer had a family emergency he had to attend to which I respect and understand so I was unable to bring him the ECU last night, but TONIGHT is the night we fire things up! I've got my video camera with me ready to go for vids and dyno vids!! Stay tuned.....
yo man, if your going to be up and about around 10-10:30, give me a call

Sweet man, cant wait!
It's ALIVE!!!!!!!!
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! It's ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
we put the ECU in today and fired her right up and WOW!!!!! She was ROARIN!!!!! OMG she is a beat now!!!! Wow, i can't stop saying wow...............WOW!!!
We even took her for a spin, and HOLY S*****!!!! The car is a whole different car. It's like putting a C&L Intake and Bamachips Tune X5!!!!!! I am very very very very very pleased with this blower and recommend it to everyone!!
Once again my installer said this was A GREAT KIT and a BREEZE to install, for this was HIS FIRST 05 Mustang Supercharger install, and he did a PHENOMINAL JOB!!!! He quoted me $950 for the job, but for that kind of job, I'm cutting him a check for $1200 cause he deserves it!!
Here is the FIRST VIDEO, THE FIRST STARTUP with the ECU and the blower on!!!

That is WICKED dude, i need to get one, my only question is what happened to the metal coolant tank that whipple shows on their car, i see a plastic one on your car, did whipple change their mind on it mid way
yes they used a plastic coolant tank, but its great though. You can see through the plastic to see if the intercooler pump is working. It's great!

Oh man, what a sweet, sweet sound!
I have been reading this thread off and on every day anticipating the start up of your car... The sound of the Whipple is amazing! I cannot wait to hear the dyno run if you decide to dyno it! I wanna hear that Whipple scream! lol
I don't mean to hijack, but Will I saw your Magacharger posts and pm'd you. I live in the Detroit area and would like to meet up and see your install and hear it run. Pm me when you can. i I have been in contact with Livernois but as of now everyone is in Orlando. $500 is a great install price. I hope the can do that for me.
Hey Paul:
The blower looks / sounds incredible! Can't wait to see it in person. Give me a call if you have time tomorrow. Maybe get some Stangs together .. supposed to be a beautiful day. Let me know.

Bad News, Bad News!!
We put the car up on the dyno and all I can say is "Houston, we have a problem!"
The car is running DANGEROUSLY LEAN @ WOT! All 3 pulls carried 383RWHP, but the torque was right there @ 450!!
see A/F ratio chart below!

As for the note from my installer, he noticed that my fuel pressure gauge is out of wack! The fuel PSI idle's @ 30psi, gets up to 38PSI under WOT and dies down to 28PSI when you let off, which is really bad. In my mind I think its fuel pump, but then again i could be wrong or it could be the tune, I do not know, I'm soo upset right now I just dont know, and my installer is shocked too, he is going to contact whipple on monday and find out for himself what the deal is.
any idea's guys?? matt from whipple?? anyone??

As I looked at the first part of your graph I said to myself fuel pressure, then I scrolled down and saw what the tech wrote. My first guess would be a problem with the fuel pressure regulator and/or installation of same. I don't know what the specs are for your fuel pressure, but it definitely should increase with rpm/boost, not decrease. You have the GT500 pump, right? You are very lucky you didn't ventilate your pistons.
I have to say that's the most dangerous a/f curve I have ever seen on a full dyno run. I'm no tuner , but I'm surprised the tech did not abort the run. 17 A/F? wow, that's pistons taking a peek outside territory. From 4500rpm up that just looks plain scary.
The fuel pressure should increase as the computer sees the load increase. My tuner showed me the map as he adjusted it. From what I understand, as the computer sees a higher load, it ups the voltage signal to the FPDM (fuel pump driver module) and that tells the pump to put out more (so to speak). Could be your map for this function isn't set right, but I think Whipple would have sent out a "canned tune" that was already a little on the rich/safe side.
Could there be something wrong with the pump? Injectors? When is the last time you changed the fuel filter? I changed my fuel filter the morning before the dyno tune, just in case. Besides, at 18K miles, I had never changed it. Fuel filters are only around 10-12 bucks, and only good for about 15K miles from what some say, could be a piece of trash stopping it up, only letting a certain volume of fuel through, and up top, you're running lean.
I think the A/F is suppossed to be 11.8 -12.0 for the whole run. I would think anything over 12.5 would be unacceptable. You're definitely running out of fuel up top.
Could be in the tune, or or the pump, or a kinked fuel line, or the injectors, or the filter, or something in between. I would start with the easy stuff like change the filter, look over the fuel lines that were replaced or moved for kinks, check the wires on the new pump, and anything that was changed, removed, or replaced during the install. Tomorrow morning I would also call up Whipple and see what they have to say.
Hope you get it straightened out soon. I wouldn't go WOT with it like it is. You are sure to get some pinging/detonation, which is very bad.
Good luck, let us know what you find out.
