Mine have mellowed out nicely after about 4,500 miles. I did Dynamat the trunk, spare tire well, under the rear seats AND the wheel housings. This made a huge improvement with the drone (and road noise in general), but the drone itself has subsided quite a bit with time. It's NOT that I'm getting used to it.

So I wonder what that's all about? You figure maybe the packing in the can is getting some soot in there, and in the process absorbs more of the sound?

You know, I could swear the same thing is happening to my beloved Sheila. The Stingers were the 1st mod...at about 500 miles, and she has 6900 now, and I could swear they have toned down altogether: drone, idle etc. A fellow S197 owner hear me drive away and later commented that it sounded "high-end", and not "red-neck pickup".

I'm with you guys. Either my Borla Stingers no longer drone, or I've become oblivious to it. The system still sounds absolutely amazing, however! As MrClean stated, more "high-end."

I had the dealer tighten the **** out of the clamps when it was in for some other work. I always knew I had a bit of a leak in the passenger side clamp. Anyway, there was a noticable reduction in the drone afterwards. It was said on here before that an air leak makes the drone more noticable... its definetly true.

Got the Borlas here as well. Had them on since day 1, and have loved the sound of 13,700 miles! Now, since the longtube install, the Borlas REALLY SOUND SICK!!!! The best axleback out there!!

Don't have a camcorder, BUT I do have a digi cam. If I can figure out how to take the video I record on the camera, I can post it on here. Just don't know how to do that. Maybe this week I can give it a try, and get some sound clips. Its MUCH meaner sounding when I drive by at WOT! As my friend told me when we went through the Lehigh Tunnel in PA, and I got on it as I passed him, "it sounded like a cannon went off!" AWESOME!!!
