Fays2 Watts Link is installed!

Ok Gang, while I was having my front and rear upgraded brakes put in, I also had them install the Fays2 Watts Link. Here are my thoughts!

Car is VERY stiff. You don't have to put alot into your turns or movements that you want to go with the car, due to how stiff it is. In turns, the Fays2 allows you to put more power to the car, because the watts is keep everything on the gound in the rear. Taking turns at 80mph+ is a breeze, depending on the curve of course, but it allows me to keep acclerating throught the turn... It's awesome!

One of the main reasons I chose this kit is because I already have the complete Frpp suspension with the Shelby GT which I was able to keep with it's entirety with the Fays2 Watts link. With the other watts link kits I would have had to of changed some of that suspension or have extra parts from the other watts link kits, so in essence I would be paying for parts that I didn't need. I paid like 645.00 shipped to my door. Those of you with out a complete suspension, you may want to go in another direction to get those extra parts.

Overall I am pretty pleased. Great mod.

Torrence, great review of the kit. Once question. I've been toying about this mod, and just wanted your opinion. My car's suspension is totally stock. Would I benefit from adding this unit? I don't track it, but I do drive it to ALOT of shows, and if it helps the ride, and keeps the tires to the ground better, I'm all for it. Let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks for the advise.

IMO Jeff, you would totally benefit! In more ways than 1.

1st the price is unbeatable for what you get for the setup.
2nd if you don't want or are not ready to add extra suspension mods, your not paying for it with the Fays2.
I don't track my car either, but love to road race and take corners. I wanted my car to handle like a BMW and IMO it does. The guys at CJ's said that my car was the best handling mustang that they had ever driven after this install, BUT keep in mind I also have the frpp suspension, Steeda LCA's and Steeda upper 3rd link, so I have alot of suspension mods already.

The piece is designed to keep the power on the ground in turns, keep all power equal in the rear and not allowing movement on the axles one way or another, which allows you take the turns at greater acclerated speeds.

Regardless if you have a stock suspension or not the piece does what it was designed to do. So you will benift, just probably not to the degree that I have with this complete suspension.

Regardless of my suspension mods, I could tell the difference with the addition of the Fays2.

I disagree with that. My car has a bunch of suspension mods and I've been driving a 335XI for the last day. The XI feels so much better than my Mustang. It's much more intuitive in the corners, which makes me more more confident in the inputs I am making.

I really hope Ford puts a IRS in the next gen Stang, so we can finally have a great handling street car.

That's why I said IMO not yours. Have you ever been in a car with a Watts Link?

Yes, it's still inferior to a IRS rear. Have you ever driven a BMW? It sounds like you haven't because their is a noticeable difference in the experience.

Comparing a BMW to a Mustang is like comparing apples and oranges. If he's happy with the improvement of the Watts link then I think that's great

Dude whatever..... And yes I have to answer your question. Again, IMO.

To those interested in better performance, It's a great mod.... It helps give the car an IRS feel, more control and power to the pavement, period.

For whatever reason your pic is not showing for me and I need to see this installed. I've been completely unaware of this part.

Is asking the weight an unacceptable question? Nice Roush by the way, the tail lights look sweet.

Also, it looks like rpmoutlet has this for $350. I wonder why it's so much cheaper there.

It's a pretty heavy/hefty piece. Not sure on the exact weight though.

Rpm outlet has the Lakewood Watts link.... That is a pretty cheap price, but dealing with RPMouutlet you might not ever get the piece anyway so be careful.

Does this replace the panhard bar? I don't see one in the installed pic.
