hi 2005sonic!

i would love to do that to save $600+ but i heard from people that your ride will suffer and you'll end up changing out the struts/shocks soon..

what was your experience like?

thanks very much..

I only have the springs now, sorry, but I am getting tired of the bumpyness with just the springs. I drove in an 05+ mustang with the eibach spring's and shock's and struts and it seemed like it drove better than stock. So I will be ordering them here soon

What wheel tire combo are you running? Your setup is almost exactly what I'm going after

The wheels are 18x9 Shelby Razor’s and the tires are Goodrich KDW 255/45 all around. After I do my winter modifications I am thinking about getting a set of the CTR FR500 style wheels. They are supposed to have them available in Gunmetal with the offset for our cars in Feb. If I go this route I’ll run 18x9 frt and 18x10 rears with the same 255/45 KDW on the front and 295/35 DR’s on the rear. I will definitely need more traction after my mods.

Definitely get the D-specs.

Any of the performance springs (Eibach, FRPP, Steeda, Vogtland, Roush, Saleen) will give comparable results. The Steeda springs are a linear rate, while the Eibach and FRPP and progressive rates. Pros and cons to each, but negligible for most of our uses.

Did I mention getting the D-specs?

I run mine on 4 up front, 4.5 in the back--firmer than stock, but a better ride. Tough to explain, but it is just a smoother damping and rebound action.

Linear: The springs are wound with equal spacing, the rate remains the same.
Progressive: The springs are wound with decreasing spacing and size, the rate gets greater at the limits.

Steeda springs are progressive. Someone, I think the originator of this thread, says he runs his D-Specs two turns out. That is WAY stiff for street driving. I have mine adjusted the same as yours. The beauty of the D-Specs is that they are infinitely adjustable so you can adjust them like you would the idle adjustment screw on a carburetor, ie. start rich (stiff) and then loosen them up a quarter turn at a time until the car feels "floaty" (lean), then go back a quarter turn.

Do you have a source for this? When I asked Steeda, I was told they were linear. Just by looking at them (constant wire diameter and constant coil spacing), I have no reason to disagree.
