debateing on an xpipe, either of these good choices?

Mustang tuneing has the;

pypes offroad xpipe for 159.00

I've never really heard of them before getting my mustang so any comments on quality and sound when used in conjunction with my SLP loudmouth?

I don't care about loud anymore... the slp is kinda quiet if you ask me....

or another choice is the SLP offroad xpipe for 370.00

Does it really matter which brand you get?

Would it be better to get a nice set of headers instead of an xpipe?

I want sound and hp out of this next mod.....

(I might do a stripe kit next but it can always be put off till later)

any input, and i'm going to do a search and read all the posts....

thanks
jake

I would not do the offroad x if I were you. I love my offroad pipe but I am about to put some highflow cat's on it because it's a little much sometimes, other times I absolutely love it.

Can't speak specifically to either brand, nor to any performance change, but my Magnaflow x REALLY woke my exhaust up , so the X is really a worthwhile mod, to my mind. Plus, you can do the install yourself, if you're so inclined (and have stands).

I was debating it... it's only 159.00 so it's not like a huge investment...

I want a little louder and more meaner sound.... and i know a cat-delete would accomplish some of that....

Does an x or h pipe require a tune adjustment? I wouldnt think so since it's on the back end of the whole combustion process....

I bought but have not yet installed the FRPP X-pipe. I went with it since the stock mustang exhaust performs very well and figured going with the Shelby GT exhaust is an easy decision to make. I'll make a before and after video comparing bone stock to x-pipe and GTA mufflers, it'll be posted in a couple of weeks.

You won't need a retune with just an exhaust change from what I have been told but then I am running a 100% stock powertrain so ...

I've had a Pypes offroad H for awhile now and I have no problems with it, other than I opted to have it welded where it connects at the middle; it cost me like $6 or something- no big deal.

If I were you, and you're sure you want to go offroad, I would buy the offroad H as it will sound deeper and less raspy than the X. As far as power, I gained around 8 rwhp when I went from the factory catted H to this Pypes offroad H. You can get the offroad H from Brenspeed for around $170 delivered I think.

Just be warned, any offroad pipe with the SLP's will be loud, LOUD, LOUD.

And then, even LOUDER. Try just removing your stock midpipe and SLPs and run the car with open manifolds for a minute- that's close enough for a comparison.

Here is a video of a HiFlo CattedX with SLP LM
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/7...550131eac3.htm

If you go with an O/R H its going to be louder, but deeper.
If you go with an O/R X its going to be even louder, and more raspy.

loud and deep is what i'm looking for.....

I don't really care how loud it is as long as i can hold a conversation at normal levels inside the car with the windows up. I drive with them down most of the time anyway, even in cold weather.... it's only when the gf is along that the windows are up almost the whole way.

I have the Hiflow catted X from magnaflow with FRPP/Stingers. It's loud and deep. This X really woke the stingers up. Here is the vid.
