Dyno Test Results For Steeda CAI

For anyone who may be interested, I have the long awaited independent test results, for the Steeda CAI, from Brenspeed..In addition, you'll also notice that Brent performed, a side by side comparison, with the C&L street CAI...According to the results, both systems were nearly identical in both HP. and Torque numbers..Anyhow, I hope everyone may find the test results, as both helpful and useful, in someway...

C&L Street Intake

300.07 HP/310.28 Torque

Steeda 90mm

297.60 HP/309.7 Torque

The test was performed by making 3 pulls with each air intake. The numbers above are the average of the 3 pulls.

The steeda worked great but fell short above 5,000 rpm’s, most likely due to the lack of aftermarket inlet pipe.

Vista, why the headshake? Nice first post.

Karen, thanks for the info. That does make sense about the inlet.

Thanks for performing the test and posting the results. I would have been really suprised if the Steeda produced more power than the C&L. The Steeda is probably fine for a close to stock car, but I wouldn't choose it if I were going to do other performance mods like, heads, headers, I'd choose the C&L.

Which tunes were used for these CAI's? Was the Steeda tune used for the Steeda and a C&L tune used for the C&L, or was the car never tuned and ran the same for both?

Was the test done using a stock exhaust system?

I can only assume, that the Steeda tune, was for the Steeda CAI, and the C&L tune, was the for the C&L..Therefore, you should all be directing your questions, to Brenspeed..
