If you're looking for a catted mid-pipe, don't overlook the Magnaflow piece. I've had good luck with them previously, and they offered a lower tone compared to the SLP or Bassani pieces. However, this was not an a S197 but on a '04 Mach. Just my 2 cents........

Brent, have you tested this with a Mac axleback exhaust by any chance? The unbelievable drone while cruising at speed in the 1800-2100rpm range has been well documented (although otherwise, an awesome sounding muffler) and reports are indicating the only combo that actually diminishes the drone is combining JBA shorties with Bassani catted xpipes. I'm kicking myself for even considering $800 worth of exhaust system to get rid of the drone (albeit even more of an awesome sound all around), so if reports of diminished drone with less expensive midpipes has me interested...

John
Drone is an issue with a lot of mufflers. Yes the Mac mufflers because of design are loud at 2K. They have drone and so do others with that same design. Can it be fixed and still retain a perforamance mid pipe? I think so. I have proto-type mufflers here from Pypes that I am going to use for sound files this week. I have looked at the design and it is nothing like the Mac's. It will sound different for sure and I dont think it will have drone or at least it wont as bad. If you love your Mac's and dont want to get rid of them but you need to loose the drone because it happens at cruising speeds you could always get a lower rear gear. Your car will be quicker and your RPM's will change at cruising speed. Not a cheap answer but people do do it.

I have a couple people sending mufflers in so I will have to see if any of them are the Borla.

Current programmer customers need not pay for a new tune. So if you are a current customer just send in your xcal and it will get re-programmed. Contact me directly if you want to do this. I still have not recieved a check engine light with the off road H pipe. I have customers with off road X pipes that get a light so I would assume this may happen with the H on some cars. The fix is our Mil eliminators ($61 retail) which simply plug into the 02 harness and let the computer think cats are still on the car or I can re-tune your programmer to turn it off. Also you guys that love X-pipes remember you dont pay for a new tune either when you buy an X-pipe.

I'm definately interested in that.

Speaking of legal or not. My area doesn't stick the darn sensor in the tail pipe of 97+ cars, They just check the computer, so if flash my car with the tune will it still report a problem?

No problem guys!! Brent is willing to take the time to put them on for us and get a sound clip....so we really should be thanking him.

p.s. shipping 40 pounds worth of Flowmasters is EXPENSIVE!! Maybe if someone buys me a beer or two, we'll call it even...lol.

Brent, how much longer will you be offering the pre-order price on the pipes? Waiting for my next paycheck to buy them.

Brent,

You have to stop posting these video's!!!! I really can't wait to much longer. Really like your in car stuff.

BTW, does your car have gears? It just seems wicked fast in the video.

Yes during that video the car is running 4.30 gears. I have ran 4.30's for the last couple months. I like the video's also because it shows part throttle, interior, and wide open throttle. I am going to try to do them all like that. I am going to have to go back and re-make the others that are just free reving. I doubt that will happen until January.

Sorry I have not tried the JBA mufflers yet.

If you're looking for drone... it won't be there with 4.30s at 70mph -- already at 2500+ rpm by then.
