Driveshaft for sure. Less headache and it's easily reversible if a warranty issue arises.

not usually but there are a few cars out thereat stock height that do need adjusting for whatever reason but it's almost always cars that are lowered 1.5" or more.

Check the angle, then decide.

Got to Sears and you can get a magnetic base angle measuring tool.

You need to check with the wheels fully loaded ... so that means a car rack that the car rolls on unless you have a buddy at one of those quick change oil shops.

Installing the driveshaft is much easlier then doing headers but they are both very good mods.

I would like to think the headers would give a few more hp than a drive shaft freeing up around 6hp. But seeing your car is lowered I would worry about them hitting the ground. How much closer to the ground do headers sit than the stock exhaust. Cost of headers is double what the drive shaft will cost you.

Not if you go with shorty headers!

Well, the question was posed as which would we do first, implying he's going to do both of them eventually. If it was me (and it was at one point), I'd do headers first. Just for the simple fact that I like to feel the kick in the pants of the mods. Then I'd do the Spyder DS, which is felt quite a bit as well. Of course, if funds are a factor and a mod must be done at this time (wait, that's all the time) then go with the Spyder DS. You'll love both mods!!!

In order to adjust the pinion angle you'll need an adjustable UCA or LCA so figure on doing suspension mods before the headers. You should do it anyway if you get wheel hop with the freed up hp and less inertial force from the driveshaft.

i wouldn't worry about the pinion angle until it's installed and you see if it needs to be adjusted. most don't need it.

he's already lowered so I would think the pinion angle is off already. Unless he has the adj uca. How far off would the pinion be with the car being lowered 1.4 or so?

i have relocation brackets/LCAs ready to install but i did not get adjustable UCAs yet.

the relocation brackets should reset it back to stock which varies from car to car but is usually around 0 to +1
i would still install it as is and just see how everything works cause you may not need the adjustable upper but it is nice to have for performance reasons. the rear housing rotates so much with the stock UCA cause the bushings are so spongy. if you do all of it at once you will notice a big change in the feel of the car since you are removing a bunch of the soft spongy stuff ford put there for ride quality and noise reduction. to me it's not bad and i feel more in touch with what the suspension is doing than before. my car just didn't feel like a mustang until i got rid of all the hydro bushings and crap. now it feels like a mustang

hey spyder,

with non adjustable LCAs and a non adjustable UCA, should I be concerned with installing a spydershaft with stock height??
