I'm looking for feedback on some of the common problems people experience with their blowers. For example oil leaks appear to be common on prochargers, belt tensioner problems are common with Whipple.

What are some of the other problem people have experienced with thier blowers?

 

So far, so good, with my Vortech V-2 standard S-Trim blower. No problems to report, other than perpetually trying to adjust the tuning better and better (not really a problem).

I had to replace a rubber elbow that connects to my intercooler. It took about ten minutes to replace. Other than that it has been smooth sailing

 

How long have you had your blowers?

 

I bought mine used and I put about 5k on it so far

If you get a Whipple or Kenne Bell just buy a Thump_rrr belt tensioner. You will have zero tensioner problems. That thing is very strong. No problems with mine so far.

 

+1. I also get that the problem is usually the worst on Manuals.

As far as problems with the Whipple, my gas mileage sucks because I can't keep my foot out of it. Does that count ? Oh yeah traction is a problem unless you're easy in first, otherwise you kinda just sit there and spin the tires. But trust me, I ain't complaining.

 

My MagnaCharger has been on about a year now , and no problems with it ...

 

I don't know about mechanical problems, but a big one I see is traffic tickets

 

grenaded motors is a big one that I've seen

 

Had a Vortech blower for about 9 months or so, with no problems. Have a Saleen now, with no problems. Sounds like you've done your research, now it's time to buy.
