On a cold start in morning.. I'm at 2 grand for the first 10/15 seconds... before it slowly reduces.

Is that normal?

Mines at 2k for about 5 seconds then goes down to 1k and I usually start driving when it's under 1k. Seems normal to me.

I asked Steeda about that because mine does it as well after I installed a tune I purchased from them. They told me it was normal.

Mine does the same. It's normal I think. Actually, I like how the car shoots up to about 2K when first fired up. Sounds like a beast awakening ;-).

Thanks Guys...

I'm use to it now.

I just always tried to keep the RPMs as low as possible for the first 30 seconds till the oil gets flowing, but if that's how they designed it... I'm sure it's OK.

The main reason for that is for emissions. It is actually heating your cats to ignite the catalyst. I am not an emissions engineer but I am pretty sure that is the point of that.

I'd agree as we have cool mornings here and after a min or so its a all warm & cozy , if and I only tried once plugged in the block heater and I had a better run to my son's school.

Mine will kick up to about 1500 to 2000 when it's really cold (20 degrees and below) and come down in about 10-20 seconds. I also noticed if I push the clutch in for a second it'll drop another 100 to 300 rpms.
