Coil Packs & Coil on Plug

Do Granatelli 05-07 GT Coil Packs & Coil On Plug Connectors really increase HP as they advertise?

From what I have read about them in the past is on a N/A car probably not worth anything but if you are running a supercharger/turbocharger they would help keep a good spark which would help make some additional power.

Run Forest!! Run!!

They are a POS. Several of us F/I guys that jumped all over them have switched back to the stock coils.

Justin Burcham told me he wasn't impressed. I think he's running MSD replacements now.

I am looking at this and if I do decide to try them, I am going straight to the dyno to answer this question once and for all.

I completely agree that n/a, I would be surprised if you saw anything. I have 577rwhp now, so I am thinking I might try a set to see. Especially since when I race I use C16.

I was looking at these--anybody have any feedback?

I would love someone independent to run an immediate before/after dyno test on these products...... it would be great to see if some of these vendor claims are accurate.

I asked a vendor here several months ago to sell me a set at a discounted price and if they panned out to be as advertised, I'd pay the difference between the discounted price and the advertised price so that they ended up getting the same amount of $$ as a normal sale....... offer was not accepted.

I would agree 100% and that applies to anything with that last name as far as I am concerned.

While they're at it the could also test the GMS mass air sensor which results in "10-18hp and 100% increase in airflow over stock." Mind you this is just the slot-in sensor itself installed in the stock housing.

I have run the old GMS 3 valve COPs, the stockers and now the MSD Blaster COPs.
The MSD are like 20,000 volts
The GMS are lie 60,000 volts.

I have had a few of the GMS COPs burn out. That is why I switched to MSD.
Granatelli just sent me a new set of their new design COPs which are supposed to correct the coil winding failures they had.
I will be doing an independant dyno test of all three soon
stock
MSD
GMS new style.

When these work they are a very noticable improvement on how the car runs and I know they eliminate spark blow-out.
We will see how much power difference for each when I dyno them.
