Cheap line-lock kit

Found this at RPMOUTLET.COM http://www.rpmoutlet.com/05gtjet.htm

If you part it out its about $100-150 the kit runs $199.99 and all the bending and flaring is already done!

Yea, I have seen that kit, and also the Hurst kit they sell there. While I agree these are pretty good prices, all the bending and flairing done, ease of install, etc., there is probably going to be people that will have negative to say about it because it is a single soleniod setup insted of a dual. Personally, I am still waiting for just one of those folks to explain to me what they know that all of the aftermarket high paid mechanical engineers don't.

Do you have pics? Where did you get the solenoids?

Summit has several kind of solenoids. I went with the Summit stainless steel versions, but they require a bit more tube bending than dustin's Biondo solenoids.

BTW... I never flared a tube in my life until I installed these line locks. So, they may not be works of art, but they didn't leak and they do what they're supposed to do. So all is good I guess.

stupid question, but since I have never even been to a drag race I'll ask anyway...

What is the goal of a line lock and how does it work?

Is it for brakes?

Makes it easier forcars to do burnouts by keeping the brakes locked so that you can use your feet on the clutch instead. Someone let me know if I'm wrong here.

Just as a point of clarification, a line lock will only lock the front brakes.
