So they claim. And it could very well be. Who knows? I sure don't. I like the C & L, though, it's got enough power for me (for now! )
I just heard too many horror stories about the oil from K & N's being ingested by the engine and causing harm, so I went another route.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I did want to post an update. I took my car to a different dyno shop today, and they were able to successfully dyno the car in 4th gear, not third as MPS did. Then they had it up on the lift to optimize the tune.
It turns out that the "canned" C & L tune was running a touch lean at WOT. After playing with it for a while, we ended up with +4% fuel in the 4k-7k RPM range, and +1.5% spark advance in the 4k-7k range. No modifications to the 2k-4k RPM range.
Now, for the numbers. We ended up with:
286.6 rwhp / 274.8 rwtq
Much, MUCH better than the previous numbers. Also, this shop is much closer, I think I'll go there, if for no other reason than to save gas. The highest numbers we saw were 289 rwhp / 290 rwtq, but the A/F ratio was high enough to worry the guys, so we added a bit of fuel to compensate. A/F ratio at WOT is between 12.6 and 13.0 all the way up, very even.
From the tuning they did today, I picked up an additional 8 rwhp from when I arrived. Not bad at all, I would think.

Eric- Could you please tell me where the closer Dyno is? Everett is only 5 minute drive for me.
the tune Diablo provided for the C&L running lean!?!, thats not good at all, how much did you have to pay for the dyno and adjustments?
Thanks!
