C&L Intake Decision
C&L Intake Decision
im going to purchase a intake and tune from brenspeed soon.....but my question is this, should i buy the regular c&l intake or the c&l racer..... pros cons?
I have the C&L racer tube and being plastic it does not hold heat as much as what the aluminum street piece would. The C&L Racer is less expensive as well.
The Street would be a good choice if you plan on running nitrous as you can drill and tap the tube for the nitrous nozzels.
As for as horsepower difference goes I don't believe there is much if any.
You will be pleased with either. Talk with the tuner to see which they preffer.

Talk to brenseed but unless your going to add cams or something the street will be all you need! heres a pic of my C&L CAI from brenspeed!.........Great choice!
I have had great results from the Racer. I plan on doing all that I can N/A so the Racer was a no brainer for me. Racer intake + Brenspeed tunes = very fast n/a car that is very streetable. If I was more into the show scene I might have chosen the street version. But for the racing enthusiast in me I had to go all out. So far the racer and other mods have proven to be quite effective in a N/A combination.
I have the Racer, but as someone posted above, if you are thinking about Nitrous, then you need the metal tube. I like the plastic one. It's light, and not too showy. I don't open my hood for anyone, but I let them check out the taillights all they want!
I have the street, and have heard that is better on the lower end. Ive seen some dyno sheets that you can find on there website that shows they are both preety much the same. I like the look of the street better. IMO
