Thanks for the info. I paid 750. should be here tommorrow. I bought them off a person here on the forum, new , couldnt use them. Hopefully everythiing works out fine. but I hope for the money I saved, it is an awsome bassani sound. I had seen the compcat/xpipe, and axle backs near 1200. So at 750 I couldnt pass it up.

The next week or two sounds great. The weather's supposed to clear up after this weekend too, so we can all have shiney clean cars again! Time to Zaino!

Just bought the C&L intake and the Diablo Preditor Tunner. I was looking for pictures of what this looks like in the car. If anyone out there has this intake can they please post some pictures. Thanks

Well here is the pictures you've been asking for. Installation is real easy - instructions are well written.

Predator came at v21 so no update was required for the tuner . DL the tune as instructed. Worked perfectly. I decided to not mess with the extra bracket. Doesnt seem to need it and its optional. I didnt want to take a bolt out of the valve cover especially without knowing the torque specs and the warning about over torquing the bolt in the instructions..

Here are some pics for you - probably have to post them over several posts...

Andrew, that look sweet! Mine is sitting in my livingroom right now, along with an intake cover. I hope to be elbow deep in my engine bay by 7pm tonight! I should have it in Everett Sunday morning (see autocross post in northwest section) if anyone's in the area.

Is the filter that comes with the C&L a K&N or an S&B?

Got mine installed this morning, along with the intake cover. Take a look.

Didn't drive much after installing the tune, just down the street to fill up with gas and get lunch. Spent the rest of the afternoon putting a coat of Zaino Z2 on and getting it ready for autocrossing tomorrow. I can't wait to see how it handles on the course!

And it'll look good doing it, too.

I posted this in the Diablo vs. SCT debate, but i want to make sure everyone gets to read this (if they want to of course):

I have the C&L and the SCT XCal. Everything was really easy to install and the results are simply incredible. I am speechless at the performance increase, mainly from the tune. I have an automatic, and I got the XCal and the tune from Alternative Auto. It is insane. The car shifts awesome, I can chirp the tires shifting from 1-2 and from 2-3. A lot of people didnt think this was possible with the auto, but it is.

I had first loaded the 93 octane tune without the C&L intake installed, and the car just sounded, shifted, drove much better. That gay throttle lag is nowhere in site. I ran the tune for about a day just to check it out. Then I installed the C&L intake and did the 93 octane w/ C&L tune that Alt. Auto supplied. Even better. The engine breathes considerably more, and revving the engine sounds much cooler. I even get some exhaust popping if you really get on it. Having a shaker put on June 2. Cant wait. Bottom line is this: if you have an automatic, Alternative Auto has the tune for you. They do have a manual tune as well. I'm in no way associated with those guys, this is not a plug. Its just a fact.

Dave,
Do you now if they will do a mail order tune? I read your earlier post and went to thier web site but it says they like to tune only if you can bring car to them? I have an auto and would love to have that setup.I would order the C&L and SCT from them.

See I was the exact opposite (I assumed that I didnt have to bring them the car). I just called them and ordered the stuff. Im like 200 miles from them, they just sent the tunes on the XCal. Got everything within 1 week. Shipping was like 10 dollars.

Any computer reflashing not done by the dealer is said to void warranty. Direct from my service mgr at mcmahon ford. I would talk to your individual dealership service mgr, and see what he says about mods. Good luck ponygirl. If you do want individual tuning capabilities is an Local SCT dealer/tuner.

You can retune your car back to stock if its necessary to bring it back to the dealer. I have read that dealers can detect this. I've also read that they cannot, so who knows. However if you look up the law on dealers voiding warranties, they can only due it based on proof that your mod affected the damage. The dealer was the least of my worries when choosing my mods. It was flat out performance that i worried about. Just my thoughts.

Ponygirl -
You can do this without going to a shop - its really easy - at the most 45 min to install the intake and 15 -20 minutes for the tune.

If you go the C&L and predator route, all the instructions are very clear and any questions you can ask on the forum.. RPM performance has a good deal on it.

The C&L intake required 3 tools . 10mm and 8 mm socket, a flat head screw driver (or you can use the 8mm socket) to tighten the clamps just make sure to not over tighten them.
