It's all good! I guess there is one drawback... I keep flooring it to hear the sound and feel the power in the "Butt-O-Meter"!

Shouldnt be, just make sure to clean / oil the filter enough if you live in really dusty environment, dont forget about it when you change your oil and stuff just cuz you have a diff CAI.

How do you do the "reflash" or whatever it is after you install your CAI? Do you have to buy a $400 recalibrator, or is that something you can rent from an auto parts store? Is it easy to do?

Thanks for your help!

You can either buy the tuner or take it to a performance shop and have them do a custom tune for you. I just ordered the C&L intake + Diablo Predator tuner combo from RPM Outlet which is really a good deal. I don't know how much a custom tune would cost you though, sorry.

You can't rent one. If you are getting a JLT, a canned tune is about $75, plus the cost of the tuner. I got a diablo for $340 including shipping and the PC cables. So it can add up quick.

Diablo Tuner $340
Canned Tune $ 75
JLT intake kit $185

Total $600.

But it feels/sounds great when you are having fun driving. And if you are getting 30 - 35 rwhp, that is only about $20 per HP.

The actual process of reflashing is real easy and only takes a couple of minutes.

Where did you get the Diablo for $340? Did you get the 87 octane tune for the JLT too and is there a decent difference from the standard Diablo 87 for the stock intake?

BTW... I just noticed that you stated the the kit will be "Installed" this weekend? If you are having a local shop do it, you may want to reconsider. All that is needed is a regular slotted screw driver or 1/4" and 3/8" nut driver, a "Torx" screw driver or bit for a socket, I think a 12mm socket and extension for the retaining bolt on the stock housing and about 10 minutes. A really easy install.

As for the tuner. Yes, you must reflash after the install of the JLT CAI. Otherwise tha car will not even start. It runs so lean with the kit that mine wont fire over unless I have the tune in place. You cannot rent one and in order to have a custom tune done, you will have to buy one since both the Diablo and the SCT will mate to one specific car at a time. In order to use the SCT or Diablo on another car, the first must be flashed back to stack and the tuner unlocked using the software package you can download form either site. (At least it is that way with the SCT Xcalibrator)
