WOW thats great, it looks real good, I'm going to love it. How is the sound? Over here in England the brits are not used to seeing and hearing this kind of car. I get tons of head turns, its great!

It sounds like it means business. Add a free flowing exhaust and I'm sure the Brits will arrest you too. Just remember you are in the land of clockwork orange!

I wish my car could sound like an 03 mach1 with flo-masters, but since that is not possible...My Bassani's sound great. Once I get the x-pipe and headers I'm sure the car will sound really mean.

They pop and crackle when I use the engine compression to slow down! I love them. Wide open throttle is a symphony to the ears.

Just ordered my C & L today from RPM Outlet with predator tune. Used C & L on my 96 Cobra with no problems and great results. They don't make the cheapest but IMO they make one of the best.

I order mine and it should arrive on 5/20/05. High hopes for this mod.

Did you remove the HC trap?

how about seat of the pants feel - Is the change in performance worth it?

And I am interested to know if anyone has dynod with this change and SLP loudmouths installed?

I put the Bassani SS comp cats, x pipe and axle backs on Sat and love everything about them. Went to the Sonic in OKC Sat afternoon and almost shut the place down. Everyone was out of their cars checking out my hot rod.

I'm going to keep my cats, but the x-pipe is getting ordered this week. I can put that on myself.

Btrockc, how difficult was the install fo the bassani's? Or did you have someone else do it? If so how much to install it? Also is it easy to go from compcats to straight pipes they give you. If so I may do the pipes first, then cats later. Not sure. But anyway I am assuming the bassani comp, xpipe, and axlebacks makes it sound wicked. Am I correct. I hope so, I got it coming this week, should have by friday. Thanks for any info on the install. Oh yah if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay?

I had them done by a local muffler shop that does lots of performance exhaust work. Took them about an hour on a lift. Cost me $100. I will be easy to go from straight pipes to cats but be careful with the O2 sensors as I heard of the treaded portions breaking off in the holes. Mine are plenty loud with the comp cats. Yes they sound wicked. I wish I could say my mileage got better but I can't keep my foot out of it. Unless you live alone in the country, you may want to go with the cats first. I got mine from Mark at Lighting Force Performance. Believe it was around $970 with shipping. Came in 3 days.

AJC, we'll have to get together after we both get the C&L installed. I haven't done anything else to the car yet, but will probably be putting the underdrive pullies on at the same time.

I'd love to hear how the Loudmouths sound, too. How about a D I C K 's meeting some time?

I plan on installing friday morning after the UPS guy comes. Taking a day off work ! A bit nervous about the tune thing. hopefully there wont be any issues. I am curious to know if the C&L intake removes the HC trap.

I went to brien motors in everett today to ask about the strut towers -and the popping noise - still no TSB there...starting to aggrevate me a bit. Sick of the popping sound.

Getting first oil change and inspection tomorrow after work - 4100 miles.

Jay - that sounds like a good idea... and would fun. When we have the intake installed we should arrange a meeting with the NW crew - through PM.

Andrew,

If you use the MAF housing that comes with the C & L, it does not involve re-inserting the HC trap. Just a smooth, unbroken flow of air. Don't be nervous about the tune. If you downloaded the proper file, it installs right up and you're off and driving. Pay attention and make sure you don't have the dreaded pinging of detonation, and you should be fine.

If you guys set up a meet, count me in! How about in the next week or two?

Eric
