Break Fluid Reservoir Leak?

I did a search and couldn't find it, but it seems I read this in the past. My brake fluid reservoir keeps getting wet with fluid. What was the fix for this?
Thanks

do you mean that it is leaking on the outside? I have this issue as well and just wipre it up every weekend. Some guys have had frame rail damage from letting it sit too long.

Other guys have used teflon plumbing tape with some sucess.

Yep, that's it. We shouldn't have to be wiping all the time, it's not a Yugo. Oh that's right, their's didn't leak (I really don't know if if they leaked). I thought there was a fix, not having to jerry rig it with tape.

Take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it. It's that easy. Mine gave me a new cap and it's been good ever since.

Ihad it back to the dealer twice for caps and it kept leaking. I finally fixed it myself. Just take the cap off and remove the rubber gasket. Cut a round washer out of a piece of old inner tube using the ruber gasket as a guide. Then, intall the washer inside the cap and replace the rubber gasket. Put the cap back on and that should be the end of your problem.

That's about what I did about 3500mi. ago. No leaks.
I did use an actual gasket, not inner tube disc (more like the o-ring only flat).

Another alternative is to remove some of the brake fluid so that it is halfway between the MAX and MIN marks.

took mine to the dealer a few weeks ago for leaking... they stated the factory has been overfilling reservoirs. Dealer solution: they removed some fluid so level is now just below max fill line (it was slightly above the max line). So far so good.. no leaking from the cap. Try this before any cap modifications.

It will work unless you drive like me.

My 00 Vic's brake fluid cap leaks, and the same goes for the 03 E-250's brake fluid cap. Albeit these only have SOME brake fluid residue around the outside of the reservor and it's nothing like the GT's where fluid is practically pouring out.

Update:

I removed enough brake fluid so that the level was in between the MAX and MIN levels (about 1/4" below the top of the bottle). I have not seen any brake fluid seep out of the cap gasket.
