lol...but one thing no one has mentioned yet is the fact that he can do the same mods you can...in the true spirit of the military..."if you can hit your enemy..your enemy can hit you too"...

Well those guys are running 10.3:1 compression and that car that you saw running 13.0's possibly has gears. I was up against an SRT-8 3 weeks ago on the freeway. I know that I shouldnt be racing but I couldnt help it. But I was able to keep him off my tail. So either its just enought by having the mods that I have or maby he was holding back, But he couldnt catch me. What was the MPH the SRT-8 was running???

From what I've read the Mustang runs 13.5 1/4's and 5.0 0-60. That's with a good driver. Looks like the specs for the SRT is roughly the same, probably due to it's weight. So it should be somewhat of a drivers race although the SRT is going to be a little more forgiving with more power everywere. So yeah start out with intake and tune. Need more low end get gears. It's a vicious cycle that might not end, but there's a start. On a side note I heard a Daytona and was unimpressed. I thought it was suppose to have "better sounding" exhaust than the stock ones. If it did I might laugh at the "stock" Hemi version. It didn't sound anywhere near as good as the mustang GT. Don't get me wrong I kind of like the Charger (flame away, but it's closer to the real deal than the GTO), but my $$$ is going to Ford and there's no chance I'd trade.

Well, I guess that's promising. And I think you're right, CME, I haven't even done anything and I'm hooked. I fear that once I start the vicious modding cycle, there will be no end....and then my wife will leave me....leave me more time with my Mustang! ha ha...sorry, that was awful.
I'm a bad person.

In most of the magazine tests I have seen the 300C and Magnum SRT-8s run in the low 13sec range, and supposedly the Charger weighs just a hair less than its siblings... Take that for what its worth...
IMO, It won't be very hard for a bone stock SRT-8 Charger to run a 13.0X. I have a vid of a bone stock 300C SRT-8 running a 13.1X.
BTW That SRT-8 you ran couldn't have had gears, because those guys don't have any gear options. They have a very small aftermarket, an intake and exhaust is pretty much all you can get for those cars as of now.
Also they are probably pretty easy to drive fast, i.e., they have 3.06 gears and 20" wheels, so they don't spin much on launch, plus they are all automagics so there really isn't much driver influence on how fast the car is gona be. Its pretty much just put your foot to the floor and hold on.

I spoke with the Chrysler engineer who brought the car. I asked if it was stock. He told me it was a factory fresh (not pre-productioin) stock
car built just two weeks ago with only 800 miles on it. I checked it out.
Sure, looked stock. He seemed like a credible guy. The car had monster 20"rims and tires, IRS and a 5 spd auto tranny with a 3.07 rear. He was pulling 1.8 - 1.9 60Fts. despite having to go through
the water trowel (no way around it). Ran 13.0 @ 106+ on the 2 runs I saw. He told me the base price of was $36,995. Car had no options
and was well equipped. At least it was ugly!
