Oh, btw, I got my HTzero plugs today. The pieces are falling into place.

I was dreaming (asleep of course) of these spark plugs and about drag racing launch characteristics to better my 60 foots. None of it could be considered good recommendations though.

I agree.Alluminum melts much quicker than steel........... :shock:

You are correct in what your saying, and that would be best for this type of CAI. I personally knew what I was getting into with this, and was ready for any issues. I easily could have kept my mouth shut, and keep this to myself, but I felt I needed to point this out to those with this intake and considering nitrous. If u dont respect it, you will hurt something for sure. Someone eas bound to try it, and might as wll have been me. Back in 99 people thought i was nuts running nitrous in my old 99 Lightning @ 150 shot, pounds and pound so fthe stuff...never blew in two years. Now thats the norm for the L's
So now we know the direction I plan to take using this intake. The zex kit will not be up to par for 8 foggers IMO, so custom it must be for sure.

Good point, Im surprised (kinda) for not thinking of that. Might as well check it to be sure, but I would have noticed it. That plug burnt away slowly...luckily. But I need to check to ease my head now

I agree....of course. But...Im still on a stock tune, and as ZEX recommends, I stayed at 75. Dyno time soon, and of course the wide band. In fact...I plan on buying one now to have in the cockpit. But...even if the wideband showed me a good number, that "cylinder" would still have run lean due to the puddling. hopefully the new position will help out.

Good luck to all us nitrous guys. I'll get this licked...just time is needed. Come winter, I'll have direct port foggers done.
Guys, not to sound like a broken record, but the main issue with this plug was the puddling in front of the TB. It ran that cylinder leaner and also 10 lbs. in under 1.5 hrs is too quick guys. You know...a single bore TB would help, but then the intake would need to be modified slighlty.

Can't hurt when you get the time, definately helpful for a little peace of mind.

I haven't base-lined mine yet (10k miles) but I will. I just like knowing where I'm at and where I'm getting to . . . . over time.

Heck, some of my past rigs have had the readings written on the inner fender well for safe keeping !

Are these your old plugs or your new HT0 ones? (Never mind I just saw your other post)
Hopefully you didn't do any damage to the motor. But looking at that mess I don't know how you couldn't have.

I think if I pulled my plugs and they looked like that it would cure my nitrous fix in a big hurry.
The good news is the A/f looked good....(Glass half full)

Those are the stock platinum plugs, punished as seen above. Not a single "detonation" noise was ever peeped during any normal driving or with the spray. The oil came out clean as could be with no metal in it.

I'll do a compression test early this next week to confirm the health of the motor. I think these plugs burned slowly over time during the nitrous runs with too much timing in the equation. I think the motor is fine and these are the only victims of the Nitrous Oxide.

The motor pulls and runs just as it always has with no sign of any loss of power. I also must have made a run at the strip with these plugs since I did a N/A best of 13.4 @ 104. Most of the aluminum of the plugs' ground strap melted away but the spark was still finding its ground but at a larger gap. :P

I just dont think the stock heat range is good for nitrous.
