I knew what you meant, just jokin around.
For what it's worth I've driven a 6-speed manual SRT8 challenger (furious fuchsia at that, talk about conspicuous ), and an automatic 5.0, and the challenger felt somewhat faster. But not a lot, and I would think that a manual 5.0, especially with 3.73s would pull the challenger with a good driver. They're just such a heavy car.

Those challengers, specially the 392's are definitely quick. Or at least have the potential to be. If the platform and car wernt so heavy, it would dust the camaros and be right the the 5.0's. Gotta admit though i think they look the bet out of the trio and are insanely comfortable cruisers

I have a friend that has an 09 SRT8 Challenger and my 3.31 geared manual will pull away from him easily, about the same as the Camaro SS. I have a neighbor that has one of the newer 392's and I can still pull away from him, but not by much. I would think that a 3.55 or 3.73 geared car would pull a 392 easily.

Assuming we're talking about SRT8s (obviously the SRT10 will kill the 5.0 and the 5.0 will kill the SRT6 and SRT4), the 5.0 should beat the 2008-10 SRT8 while the 2011-13 SRT8 should be close to the 5.0. I think the 392 may still have a slight edge over the 5.0, especially as the speed increases, although the 5.0 is a lot lighter and a very nice engine.

I came up on one that had the RT decals plastered all over the doors. The guy in it initiated a drag race against my little sixer. I knew better and layed back. However, we came neck and neck to a light. I still was not going to try. Well, he floored it! His car made an incredibly loud exhaust note....but the car moved forward like a turtle on Prozac! It was only then that I realized that it was not the higher end car. Same scenario at the next light, however He got a great view of my new spoiler and spanking new rear 18x10s.

Had a Challenger 392 come up on me on the way into work this morning.
Had to downshift from 6th to 4th, but then just walked away from him, slow but sure.
3.73's in mine. A nearly 4200lb curb weight destroys any power advantage the 392 has over the Mustang.
Thats a 600lb difference, which we all know is HUGE. That 50lb HP delta doesn't mean a hell of a lot dragging all that weight around.

I've seen stock 06-10 6.1 SRT8's run anywhere from 13.2-13.8 in the 1/4-mile, with the higher numbers coming from too much wheelspin off the line.
A good-launching 5.0 usually runs 12's, some mid-12's which would make that SRT8 see some 5.0 tail lights for sure.
The new 392 Challys have run low/mid-12's stock, with a good launch and a great driver

The 6.1(300 SRT8) I put 4 cars on him and still pulling when I lifted.
The 392(6 speed challenger) I put a car on him from the start and pulled .5 car on him and he came SCREAMING past me at 130ish and I lifted.
All runs I was stock, minus A/Bs and both cars had a driver.
The challenger was also stock, so I would love to re-do that race now...
