Thats my point exactly, I'm sure Dodge realized this as well, customers would be amping up the power not only through N/A means (I'm tempted to say tradtional route, but it seems F/I is more common place now), but also with F/I.

This is Dodge's halo car, IMO I would have made sure the various support systems (as well as the rest of the drivetrain) appeared as bullet proof as possible.

Look at the Mustang (IRS/SRA silliness aside), brakes have always been a Mustang sore spot. No matter how good the braking system on a Mustang might be or get, general consensus is that they are inadequate at every level.

I'll disagree with you there. A built stroker with FI running the track at Willow Springs is undoubtedly the extreme rarity.

725hp wouldn't be to hard to get with FI on a stock bore and stroke hemi either. In any event its nice to know with the GT500 you dont have to blow some bills on a new cooling system if you really lean on the motor.

Thumbs up

Exactly!

On the GT500 a SIMPLE blower swap & tune can bump you over 800 horsepower, every other system, cooling transmission, clutch, rearend etc holds up to it. You don't even have to crack a valve cover...

NOW THAT IS A LOT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK~

To the poster that says we'll beat these cars easily in a short race...do you realize how completely false and lame of a statement that is?

please re-read, I did some highlighting for you so you may understand a little better. Who is lame now.

Perhaps you need to re-read.

There's a big difference between saying your statement is lame and using the word to characterize you, which I did not do. So again, I find your assertion lame..not you. I still have no idea what you are referring to by "1k#'s over a stock Mustang", Moreover, "beating them easy in a short race" - huh??

Now back on topic..if someone can explain to me how exactly an RT with a better power to weight ratio and gearing advantage is slower than a stock GT...I'll burn my engineering degree, and dismiss the data I've seen to support my statement. Will a GT beat an RT? Sure, the numbers are very close, and frankly it will come down to options on the cars involved and driver skill. Case closed.

I think a well driven GT can beat a R/T challenger and maybe even a Hemi challenger in the 1/4..them being auto of course

So I guess declaring something to be 'lame' must be fact, and not opinion then since you dismiss opinions here.

Enough of the 'lame' bickering and back to the topic already.

When you can distinguish the difference between an opinion and an assertion, be sure and let me know.

Awesome Vid. At the end of the day, the Mopar overheated and the Snake won.

Can't beat the fun factor but traction on both suck big time.
