Well the big three sure have a legit competitor in the new 09' Nissan 370Z. It has a base price under 30k, does 0-60 under 5 sec. and runs the 1/4 in just 13.3!

I was going by Motor Trend. It had the new 370Z on the cover....... 0-60 in 4.7 and 1/4 in 13.3. Very impressive numbers for about the same price as a Mustang GT. I like the Mustang more but I do see it being outperformed by the new Nissan and Camaro.

Here's something to think about. Motor Trend just did a road test on the new GXP G8 and the results are starling. This car has a slightly detuned (415HP/415TQ) 6.2 and is basically a heavier Camaro chassis.
0-60 in 4.5
1/4 in 13.00!
You figure add 7HP, 15TQ and subtract about 150-200lbs and you get a bone stock SS Camaro hitting 12s and nipping at the heals of our beloved GT500? I feel it is quite a possible. I'd say the SS will hit 12.7- 12.9....

The G8 getting the axe, if true is a bad thing. If cars this great can fall out of production with little to no chance to compete, then I see ALL muscle cars in some serious danger!

My point is that this car has some impressive numbers. It's a shame that BMW driving yuppies never give domestics a chance. This car should be a top seller! A car that gives M5 performance for a fraction of the cost and flat out crushes the Charger.

Throw in the fact that, to be blunt, the styling is fairly invisible (yeah, I know, a lot of folks on the internet love it....that doesn't appear to be helping) and the writing was on the wall before the car ever touched a dealership lot. Throw some Infiniti hand-me-down styling cues at it and call it a Maxima and Nissan would easily sell twice as many with no rebates....and likely a lot more than that.
To put it plainly. I honestly don't know why GM is still talking about killing Pontiac, they managed that some time ago.

Hello guys, this is my first time posting. I am a Camaro fan, I know this is a mustang Site, so there is going to obviously be bias in many posts. But I don't think many of you guys are giving the Camaro the credit it deserves, Everybody knows the Camaro is going to whip the 2010 mustang like a red headed step child both V6 and V8. External looks are subjective, But I will say this that the camaro looks waaaaaaaaaaay better in person than in photos it is freakin awesome. I have seen that many of you guys don't like the interior, I think it needs to be said that all the interor photos that has been seen are not production. We are begining to see close to production interiors now, go to camaro5.com to see them, it is very nice.

most of your post is alright, but anyone with half a brain could tell your comment was pointed. if you want to be civil and have a good discussion, go right ahead. but remember this is a mustang board. if you want to be treated with respect, make sure you're giving it too
we don't like trolls here, so either clean up or get gone.
and PS
I actually like the camaro, save for the weight issue. I like the look of the outside, and im a fan of the interior as well. If the 2010 Mustang refresh didn't impress me so much, I'd be wishing for a Camaro for my next car

Well I guess you haven't heard, Camaro fanboy. The Mustang 2011MY, will be getting a new 400HP 5.0L 4v next year. So enjoy your bragging rights while you can, because once the 2011 Mustang hits the streets in 2010. It will be the Mustang doing the whipping like a red headed step child, both V6 and V8
Mustang 8.875 (3550/400)
Camaro 8.976744 (3860/430)
Now my guess is the 2011 with the 5.0L and 6 speed will gain a bit of weight too. It should be very close when the smoke settles.
