No contest - the Mustang V6 wins this one. AFAIK, the last-generation Cougar was anything but fast.

Mustang hands down. The Cougar had something like a 170hp motor and a 16 second quarter.

I brilliantly (WRONG) bought a new '02 Cougar at one time. The car was less than what I expected. It wasn't slow, but it wasn't fast either. There were lots of things wrong with this car. Visability was horrible, seats were horrible and performance was medeocre at best. Big mistake buying that car. I dumped it only about 9 months later.

BTW, the '05 Stang with the 6 would clean it's clock.
