Well, a friend of mine just bought an IS350 (silver, just like the one in the above pics) and after examining the car thoroughly and driving it, these are my impressions:
1) They're beautifully made - fit and finish is second to NOTHING
2) They're loaded with creature comforts
3) It's true that quality, refinement and reliability are, again, second to NOTHING
But...
4) They DO NOT do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds - no way, no how. More like in the 5.6 to 6.0 second range
5) The driving experience is rather boring; it coddles and isolates you so much that the car has little personality...sort of like driving on novocaine
6) You cannot disable the annoying vehicle stability assist, which will shudder and stammer the car back into a straight line if you go out of your way to upset it. Actually, that's not quite true: You CAN disable the VSA system through a cheat, but you have to pump the brakes 10 times while holding in the start button and dancing a jig, all at the same time...or something like that.
Bottom line: It's a beautifully made and executed car that is largely boring to drive because it's had any and all personality engineered out of it.

ummm might as well call that charger a 300c... everyone knows the only thing the chargers of today have in common with the originals are the name.... just some oversized family car is what it is....

IMO, the 300 looked very cheap from the outside, especially those lame rear lights.

6 months ago I would have probably leaned towards the Lexus. but after riding in Womelsdorf PD's new interceptor and seeing more of the Charger I would lean towards the Dodge.
All in all though they're both too pricey for my taste.
I'd be searchin' for a low mileage 04 Cobra.... but then again that's not the two choices you asked about

These two cars aren't really very similar but I'd purchase the Lexus - much better quality and value in the long run. I have rented both the charger and it's close sibling the 300C and while they are OK cars - they are heavy somewhat ponderous sedans - and in the Charger's case it felt like a sedan trying to be a sporty muscle car. Hard to believe a charger is in the $38K price territory? Come to think of it - my fully loaded GT/CS vert came to $36.5K - that's quite a jump over the price of my '00GT loaded vert that was in the 28K range!
