What are you even talking about? You being reasonable? Yeah right. Please use the ignore button and I will do the same. I called you out on inconsistancies in your own posts and you come back crying, figures. Show me where I was losing the arguement, cause that just ain't the case. You should really take some time to read through your own posts before you open your mouth, cause all you are doing is making fun of yourself. It is rather amusing though.
crying? get over yourself people like you are half the reason i hate gm and their fans

So let me get this straight...there is something wrong with using higher displacement engines to increase hp? Are you nuts? You sound like a ricer. If that is your stand point then you have no business in a 4.6 liter, go grab a civic, they use more technology to get more power per cubic inch than either one of the engines you are talking about. Give me a break, you can use your own logic against yourself.

BTW - I did not pay a gas guzzler tax, it only applies to the auto, but I wouldn't expect you to know that.

Why do you have to rush to a Ford dealership to catch a glimpse of a 05 GT Stang? I see 15 a day out on the roads, and the Ford dealership right down hwy 290 from where I live has about 10 of them parked on their lot.

Everyone that knows anything, knows that the only reason GTO's did not move well was because of the lack of advestising. And just for the record, Pontiac is having no trouble selling the 05's. Say whatever you want about the price arguement to make yourself feel better by insulting other's cars, but in the end the GTO is, stock for stock, more comfortable, nicer, has more features and is faster in both a straight line and in the twisties...and that is fact (arguing about appearance is futile, because it is opinion based). And at meets, me and my GTO buddies get much more attention than the Mustang crowd, probably simply because seeing another Mustang just isn't that big of a deal.

Thanks for the kind words, I do have fun with my GTO, it puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it.
no, it doesnt out perfrom, and u do not get more attention, it isnt possible. people here flip when they see v6 05s and when they see a gto, they say "hey, that grand prix has sweet wheels" your full of yourself.

Wow, those GTO's are definitely ugly. Why did they put a GTO badge on an ugly car like that? Is that the best Pontiac can do in the design department?

"It isn't possible"?...did you actually say that? You really could not make a more incorrect statement about, anything really. And if any stock 05 GT stangs want to come out to Houston Raceway Park, I will set you up with some stock 05 or 04 GTOs, just to prove that in stock form the GTO is a faster car, period. And while we are there we will see which group of cars gets more attention. Cause I have already been there and I already know the result. Mr. Fordracing200 is ready to run his mouth some more, but I'm ready to prove my statement...any takers?

Lets have some more ignorant yet entertaining posts from the vast cluelessness that is Fordracing200!

You are really showing your true self here. This is exactly the kind of post that I expect from you. Good job, keep it up, I don't even have to say anything and you just keep digging the hole for yourself.

I just got my first ride in a 400 HP GTO, the pace car at the Grand Am Cup race in Birmingham. Well I got a hot lap around Barber Motorsports Park, that thing will move (we had 4 people in the car) and it seems to handle good, but as I was getting out of the car i noticed some loose parts lying in the floorboard(trim pieces) and an armrest or something came loose in the back seat, also the console was loose. The Pace Car driver said "don't worry, you know it is a GM--that kind of stuff never happened to our Cobra "R" Pace Car"!

Yes, cluelessness is a word, look it up if you are again confused, or I can save you the trouble, it is the state of being clueless. Who the heck is we? You in your daddy's car? LOL! You and your truck and the mouse in your pocket? Is e-town where people race their trucks and their daddy's cars? LOL! Ok, whatever you say...you don't even have a car to show up in...so what track you choose is irrelevant. You, once again, are left pointless. I already know who will win, back when I was stock I ran a stock 05 GT Stang and it was not even close, I ran a 13.4 (although my best stock time was 13.1) and the Stang was about 4 lengths back (Don't know his time, HRP does not post times on Friday and Sunday nights). Any Houston 05 GT Stang guys want to step up and prove Fordracing200 right?

Doug, check your pm's in a few minutes. Very uncalled for. I am telling you right now to stay out of this thread because you are bringing a negative attitude towards this and being very disrespectful towards members, the conversation and the ethics of this forum as a whole. I am warning you. You have no business in this thread as of right now.

Scott

I would go with the Mustang GT, but that is simply because I like the looks of it better. If I was more performance oriented, I would go with the GTO. The way you have set yours up Shane makes it a hard choice!

Stock numbers:
The GTO @ 400hp 440 ft-lb of torque
0-60 = 4.8
1/4 Mile = 13.3 @ 107mph

The 05 GT @ 300hp 320 ft-lb of torque
0-60=5.1
1/4 Mile = 13.8 @ 103mph

Doug, cool it down....as Scothew said, your behavior here is out of line.

I am a diehard Mustang nut....I have personally driven and '04 GTO and if I had to choose between an '04 Mustang and '04 GTO I would pick the GTO if I could get past the appearance of the nose...which I personally don't care for but it is growing on me.

As for the '05 GTO...I also was a passenger in that Pace Car around Barbers and I was impressed...with 4 people in the car it pulled hard and handled remarkably well! But I much prefer the styling of the '05 Mustang so comparing '05s I would choose the Mustang......in a perfect world I would like to have one of each because the performance and handling of the GTO is great. I just wish GM would have left it badged as a Holden....ofcourse I badly want an Aussie Falcon(New and old) too!

I am sorry for everything. I just might as well stay away from the GM topics, i always seem to run them into a heated debate.

Douglas, I believe you have what is known as an A type personality! I admire your passion but don't get yourself in too much trouble here.

For sticker price, I'd go with the Stang, no question. With all the discounts and rebates, though, I'm guessing that a GTO is actually the same price or cheaper, which makes it a much tougher choice. I love the styling of the new Stang, but am definitely not opposed to a 400hp, 6 speed, IRS-equipped Holden Monaro, even if it does look like a Grand Prix. As much as it pains me to say it, I'd have to go with function over form and get the Goat. Will the Holden grill bolt right back on?
they give all those discounts 'cause they have to trick people into buying those ugly hiney boats. Not denying they are slightly better performers, but visually they just don't excite the senses, and let's face it, isn't that a big part of what sports cars are all about? Anyhow, I'll just threw a few hundred bucks into my Stang and even the performance odds. In any case, I'll still have the best looking car!

The GTO is a great car but The chassis is old and the car weighs 3800 lbs.

So even if the mustang isn't faster in a straight line... mustang does handle better and weighs less.

In my opinion the mustang looks better.

So I would go with the Mustang myself.

Mustang.. all the way
despite the power advantage a stock GTO has over the stock GT, i simply hate the way GTOs look, feel and sound!

Doesn't really matter much for me considering the GTO isn't available in Canada.
i would expect it to be sold under a different brand name, like here in Dubai those Holden GTOs are sold as "Cheverolet Lumina SS Coupe"
