05mustangGT vs 05 GTO
Definately wouldn't trade in my stang for a new goat even if my life depended on it. If I was looking for a 4-door family fun sedan then maybe so. But obviously all of us in this forum are thrill seekers who need a little more seat-of-your-pants sport ride and nothing better than a new 05 GT!!

:nono: If you honestly believe that then you should be driving a civic. If only people would think and educate themselves before they speak there would be a lot less problems in this world. But I guess I can't fault you for ignorance. :notnice:

The 2005 Mustang is a mustang, but the new GTO is just a Pontiac grand prix with a bigger motor and GTO slaped on it.

Agreed, what a dumb-donkey responce.
The GTO over the Mustang hands down. More performance, more luxury, and by next year you'll still be able to throw a rock without hitting one. The only knock is the price. But even for the 5K difference, it's still worth it.
However the cost difference is still a factor.
I am just not sure they should really be compared. I mean the GTO is really going after a different demographic. I really think they are only being compared heads up lately becasue that is all GM has right now. I would suspect the next camaro/firebird will be of lower quality/features than the GTO, and more on par with the Mustang. However, if one of those features is the LS2, well then, goodnight.

when i first hear dof the new GTO and its power numbers and all, i loved it, i couldnt wait, then i went to see it and i was so underwhelmed, i was kind of disgusted, GM could have put more into it and they didnt.....
Its a ok car, but it doesnt live up to its name, change the name and I wouldn't hate it
as much
I wouldn't like it if it was called the Monaro, styling isn't bold.
I'm not the biggest fan of our Aussie Falcon either, but i'd sure like to have a day in the track with either of them :drive:
I love cars that are styled with an engineers soul, not with computer technology.

Me votehed for ze Moostang. I LOVE Mustangs and everybody who knows me knows that. I love other cars too, I am, what you say, an Automobile fanatic. Anything in that category I love, but I am a FORD guy as well as my whole family. Right now we have 7 Ford products at our disposal...well 6 cause I am the only one who drives my Stang (I don't let anyone else touch it lol) and my Probe,I let ppl drive if they don't have gas cause everybody else drives a V8 and with the prices here close to $3 it's more frequently then I care for.
Anyway, the 05 GTO looks better then the 04 IMO, but just doesn't come close to the looks or awe-inspiring, heart stopping, sun reflecting on the ocean feel you get when you see the 05 Mustang...it's like none other.

Yeah, I added a few new things putting down 361rwhp & 370rwtq now. Since last I was here I added a ported/polished throttle body, corsa cat-back, 160* t-stat and that's pretty much it. The goat is pulling pretty hard these days. All future plans are on hold though, gotta buy a house.

Have you done anything to improve it's appearance? Some of the body kits available look pretty good.

No major appearance mods, just new autocross grilles and chromed stock wheels. I am not going to start dumping money into the appearance until I am done spending money on the performance. Form follows functions. But honestly the only appearance mod I would ever consider is a different hood. I have one picked out that will make the car look ultra mean, change its whole stance completly.
