For anyone who may know: I ordered a 2006 Mustang. I placed the order a coupel months ago. If I were interested in changing one of my options, would it reset my place in line or would I keep my spot? I have heard conflicting stories. Some have said it bring me to the bottom of the line, while others said it wouldn't effect my placement. Anyone else experienced this type of issue or know anything about it? Thanks!

I think after your serialized then unless u want to lose your spot you cannot change the order. Before being serialized I dont think it makes any difference.

The question is, which place in line are you referring to. If your order has not been pulled for production, then you are just in line in your dealers order bank and you can change almost anything you want. There are some restrictions on certain options like Transmission, GT, V6 coupe, so it depends on what you you want to change.
Also, if your order has been pulled by Ford, you should be able to change minor options since Job 1 for 06 isn't until the beginning of August.
So, if you need a more exact answer, you can be more specific, but in general the answer is, YES you can change options at this time with no problem.
Did that help???

If the dealer put in all orders at a priority 10, then basically the date of the order sets your priority. If editing my wheels from one to another cause them to reput in my order, that'll cause my date to fall back and drop my place in "line." It hasn't been pulled yet but like I said, some say it cause the order to be reput into the system. Not sure if I want to change the wheels at this point if it causes my order to fall back by possibly months. Thanks for any tips/advice.

If all the orders in your dealer's order bank are set at priority 10, then the orders will be pulled at random, not by entry date. Unless your dealer tells Ford to pull them in some specific order, which is what the priority codes are for. Changing wheels should not change your place in line. It is just a matter of the dealer going in to your existing order and making that change only. If someone at your dealer is telling you differently, then they are only trying to avoid having to do the work. I would speak to a senior manager to get satisfaction.

Normally it would not affect anything to make a change. The only thing that could impact the order is if you add an option that is a controlled commodity or an option that is on hold. Then your order could be delayed
