Depending on which wheel, they are a couple lbs. heavier and IIRC don't have as high of a load rating. I might be wrong about that last part though.

If anyone is looking for some Enkei's, it seems a lot of the Boss guys have been running the PF01's with some pretty good success. Although you have to remember to inspect your wheels for cracks that can lead to the incident that most recently happened with Forgestar.

I did to the Ford Racing ones, but they weren't any shorter and the compound was barely softer. With the bags, I had to cut them down to the first rung. I'd just do that with your stock ones and save the money.

I'm trailering it down with my family. I'm just concerned about (back of my mind) the braking after the long back straight :-)

I had 2 Enkei PF01's, 18x9.5, fail last year. First one cracked 3 spokes, all next to each other, during one single session. I noticed it driving between a slightly different feel and a clicking noise which was the spokes stretching and compacting on each rotation. This one broke at Palmer which had no curbing and is brand new so immaculate pavement.

The 2nd one that broke cracked 4 spokes in a single session. This one I didn't notice driving. but caught in the pits upon post session inspection. It was at NJMP Thunder circuit.

I'm religious about wheel, tire, and rotor inspections at track days and I also have photo evidence from Palmer that all cracks appeared during a single session. Quite terrifying. This wheels have been downgraded to street duty. Not the cracked ones, the spares... Now I'm on OEM Gt500 18x9.5's which are heavy as &$@* but bullet proof.

Palmer on Tuesday for me!! Gonna be testing out the new Morris Engineering 2-piece rotors there! As long as my Jeep is up for towing at least... Got a clicking that developed towing home from Limerock last week... Always something

That's crazy!! Maybe they've actually managed to take out too much material in those spokes. Or the Mustang is too heavy for that application?

You know what they say, some people can break ANYTHING! I'm pretty sure I am a part of that group haha. I think my next set of wheels may be the Ford Racing BBS wheels. I haven't heard many issues with them breaking very often so I think their life span may be pretty good.

BBS are top dollar for a reason. But $300/wheel Enkeis are not even close to being in the same boat as $1200/wheel BBS!

I signed up for the SCCA Track Night at Thompson on Tuesday, because I was afraid it might rain, since it is April. Which normally means it won't rain -- like bringing your rain gear or umbrella, is the best way to ensure that it won't rain.

But, bummer, weather forecast is for rain on Tuesday. Hopefully that will change, but . . . .

What do they do when it rains? Do they cancel the event and apply your money to a future event? Or run the event in the rain and tough luck?

I can't quite handle the thought of driving with the windows open at 100+ MPH in the pouring rain . . .
