Amen! My favorite combo is Rain-X and Bosch Microedge wiper blades (replacing the whole assembly, not refills.) I only change my wiper blades twice a year with this combo (March and November). Those cheapo Anco blades at Wal-Mart lasted me one month before they started streaking. The micro-edge are great!

I've driven with no wiper blades on when other cars had theirs on full-speed and were having to slow down.

The trick is to:
1. Rub it on.
2. Let it dry to a haze.
3. Rub it on again.
4. Use the garden hose or a spray bottle of water and spray the windshield.
5. Using a paper towel wad (the cheaper the better!), wipe down the window. Let the towel get soaked and keep wiping.
6. After going over the whole windshield, use more paper towels to start drying it. Make sure you get the corners and the edges.
7. Now if you haven't done it in a while, change your wiper blades.

I found yesterday that I too now have the dreaded windshield glass spots. I think I parked under some trees at my parent's house for the holiday, and I know my home water supply is pretty hard; maybe I waxed something into it by mistake (although I've mostly avoided waxing the glass).

sigh... some Dawn scrubbing with microfiber improved things but still not complete, I scrubbed pretty hard too.

Was there ever proof of the best solution to this pollution??
