Might be off topic, but best place to post.
I'm getting the '05 Gt. I want to get a car cover to protect from the elements, but I'm also looking for one that might help protect from door dings. Any reccomendations?

Sew some small pillows on the inside of the cover, or make your own pillows in a snake like form and sew them in place. Should work, and allow you to still stow the cover into a small place. :worship:

Most mail order cover places tell you the benefits of each cover (like good ding protection, but, poor sun protection, etc.). I would buy a good quality (read expensive) cover. A cheap one will be just that - cheap.
Try California car Coveror Griot's Garage

I picked out a real good one at California. should do the trick.
Getting a $4800 paint job on my 05' Gt wouldn't want granma to take it out with her 89 Taurus Wagon.

I'll be interested to hear your experiences with the car cover. I've had two cars with them, and after a while I quit using them due to the inconvenience of putting them and then removong them. Then again, I'm not compulsive about my car.

Goes on and off pretty easy enough. A little tight putting it on over the antennae and mirrors.
The tricky part is trying to put it on over my freshly waxed car. Like two bodys playing twister with baby oil.

I had a wolf years ago on my MGB that got wet with snow in Missouri, froze and BROKE. No joke.
Careful as if you have security grommits on the sides, they can scratch your paint.

Joe--
You might be able to just put some heavy tape on the back side. The one on my MG got caught in a wind storm and beat the snot out of the doors. If it has the cable and lock on it, it is even worse.
Good luck!
