Neither one of my aluminum pedals (brake and clutch) contoured the metal pedal exactly (high in the middle).

Yes, you saw pics of my replacement pedal...
Hope the install is going as planned.

It's more like 30 minutes per pedal (at least).
Did you put your gas pedal even with the right side of the plastic pedal? or centered?
I did the "no, no"... I drilled through the top holes of the aluminum pedal. With my "new technique" I had to. But, no problems...

I think I centered it, but flush to the bottom.
You got lucky with your 'new technique'! Glad it worked out.

I drilled the bottom hole just like you did and mounted the pedal tight enough so it wouldn't move. The top of the pedal was now a slight amount away from the metal pedal since I flattened them a bit.
I drilled both top holes with the 3/16" bit just a little to make a divet in the metal. This was the perfect center mark and I used a very short 1/8" bit (so it wouldn't break) to drill a pilot hole. Then I drilled the 3/16" hole.
The only problem I had was the top right hole of the brake pedal ended up close to the ridge in the back of the metal pedal. I don't know why, it is centered just like the clutch pedal. So, the nut tightens down on the ridge a little and not all on the flat part behind the metal pedal. I'm sure it will be fine...
So, why loc-tite? Didn't you guys get lock nuts?

Yup, got the nylon lock nuts too. I was just following their instructions on putting a drop of Loctite on the 6 screws. I'm sure the lock nuts will suffice, probably just for extra insurance.
So where's all the pics?

I will take some pics tomorrow. I didn't put the dead pedal in yet, as I wasn't sure it went over far enough to the left. Also, I put the heel gaurd in with 1 screw so I could see if it was where I liked it. I'm glad I did that, because I want it moved over about an inch to the left (will cover the existing hole).
Also... I just put the wheels on yesterday, drove 3 miles to the car show, and when I was dusting off the rims I found a nail in the right rear tire. Right where the line is that separates the contact patch of the tire on the ground to the sidewall. I called Discount Tire and they said they would take care of me (even though I didn't buy the replacement warranty).

Still have houses getting hurricane damage repaired, but I don't think I passed any.

I think it's called bad luck...
Hope that'll be the last one.

C-17 Employee Car Show pics have been uploaded into my album (click on link in my sig to view).
It was a fun day!
Even after a year since the debut of the 05 GT, this baby still turns heads!

Hope this post works.
Dustin put his old K&N intake with the heat shield into my car. Had a little whistle noise when he first put it in. I had to take it out and put it back in to trace it down (little piece of plastic in the pcv nipple acting like a saxaphone reed). Runs great now.
I'd post pictures, but I think I'll wait until the forums stabilize.
