Good to hear everything went OK, and sorry you can't drive

Motorcraft = On after first oil change

K & N = On counter ready for next oil change (Freebie from Summit)
Can't go wrong with any of those IMO.
I will probably stick with the Mobil1, it's easy to get (Wal-Mart when I buy the Mobil1 Oil too)

So you're running a Motorcraft oil filter now? If so, why didn't you choose the Mobil 1 filter?

Yep, and always will.

Personally, I think the Mobil 1 and K&N filters are unnecessary. I change oil in the '89 about once a year and still use the regular old Motorcraft filter.

I've cut used Motorcraft filters open to look at them - both on my '89 and on the '03. They probably could have been used twice as long!

Ya know, even the Mobil 1 (for me, Daryl, etc.) is probably over kill. The recommended Ford Synthetic Blend is actually sold at Wal-Mart and is half the price of Mobil 1. That oil is good for 5000 miles, too... even says so in the manual. I used that in the '03 every oil change.

That is all probably true, BUT I feel better using Mobil1

And that's important, too!

I'll continue to use Mobil 1 in this car, too.

I have to agree with that statement. For cars that are driven normal (not maniacal like me ), the factory stuff is adequate.

For engines that live in the fastlane, may as well pay a few extra bucks for the added benefits of a high performance oil and filter.

Makes me wonder how many GT owners never take their engines over 4500 RPM's or purposely keep the R's as low as possible when shifting/driving? ... it's a crime!

Close enough? Some macro button examples (doesn't really look like it, but that is the Arctic Silver):

Attachment 12510 Attachment 12511

Is this better?

Attachment 12512 Attachment 12513

For anybody that sees these attachments... the paint is Dupli-Color Import Auto Spray - Arctic Silver (M). Found at your local Wal-Mart and recommended by mustangshadow - we both hate the "Import" part, but it matches the Light Satin IUP perfectly!

The last 2 days I had the car out on the Turnpike and the Osceola Speedway, I mean, Expressway. The 87P is a HUGE differnce over stock... WOW! I filled up with 93 yesterday with less then 5 miles to empty. Tomorrow I'll fill up again... and then try out the 93T.

No... only put 45 miles on it since filling up. And I'm driving the truck to work today.

I'll drive around tomorrow for one last feel of the 87P - maybe 10 miles or so - then fill back up with 93 to make sure I'm 99% 93 octane... and then try out the 93T!

Keep in mind, the Torque Tune feels 'torquey ' in the lower RPM range and seems to flatten out above 3500-4000 rpm's. Of course, this is all SOTP feel.

As long as you keep your tune testing below that RPM, you'll be happy with the amount of 'snap' it'll provide.

I'm still a big fan of the Race Tune because I typically keep the R's above 3k all the time when driving around.

I do too, but I have to try the 93T before stepping up.

I bet by Friday, I'll have in the 93P... and that I may use longer, like closer to a week. Then I'll try out the 93R for a week.

After that I'll decide which to put in for good, but I'm sure it will be between the 93P and 93R. The only time I'm under 3k is at idle and at 60 with the cruise control on.

I think I've always used a higher performace brand of oil and filters. I also tend to be a little rougher on my toy's than most other people.

Well Just got back from dropping my baby off at the dealership in LA. I miss it already. They said they're going to repaint the decklid and that it should be ready by Friday. Doubt it but we'll see. In the meantime I'm driving a Ford Five Hundered.

The dipstick handle is too hard to see in the pictures. Is it as unnoticeable in person or does it really stand out ??
Those pics were taken at night which is why it seems to blend in so much. Not to mention my car is black. I looked at it this morning though in the sun and it stands out alot more when the sun's refelecting off the chrome. The problem is that it's so small and it get's lost in between the shaker duct and the strut tower. It's a nice piece but probably better for people without shakers. I'll get better pics of the dipstick once I get the car back.
