When my wife finds out what's under my hood, Ray, she'll light 'em up to Mach 3.5 in my orange bomb in her attempt to run me down - she knows how to drive a stick. 
One last bit of trivia about the Blackbird... I'm sure Brian knows all of it, but the beautiful bird got its nickname after it was seen by people in Japan (I think it was Okinawa, Brian?). There's a snake there called "habu" and the local folks thought the SR-71 (or was it the A-12?) looked like it. The name stuck.

If I can afford it I'd like to do the motor in that time frame. Of course it all depends on how much it is.... If it's more than I anticipate then Famoso is a definite GO for me....

Hello everyone..... just dropping in to see what's going on. Hope you all have had a good holiday season so far, and a safe night tonight.
Also wanted to let everyone know that you should check the classifieds here later today and through this week, I will have lots of parts for sale. I sold my car today and am returning it to stock, except for the spoilers and stripes.

It makes me sad to hear that you sold your car though.... getting a 2010/2011 ?? what happened, what was the straw that broke your back.

0.9% financing on several '06 certified models with warrenties, etc. until 2012..........
at the BMW dealership.
Plus they offered me right at what I wanted for my GT with no aftermarket mods except the stripes and spoilers. So I keep and sell the blower, cams, fuel system, driveshaft, suspension mods, DD bullitts & tires, audio system, etc. etc.

They're nice cars.... which model ? Certainly is a completely different type of performance. At that price and they're giving you what you want. I don't blame you.

The clutch is staying in the car, but I do have an extra stock 10 spline input shaft that will be for sale, someone could send it in to be tranformed into a 26 spline like I did.
The car is a 525xi. Cold weather and premium packages..... heated wheel & seats, 6 speed auto, AWD, sat radio, HIDs, every available option except for navi which is OK. It has the multimedia entertainment with full Ipod control, etc. Ambient lighting, retractable headlight wipers, tool kits, etc. Titanium silver metallic with black leather and wood accents.
I still have my '92 fox and plan to get it to full showroom condition over the next year or two.
