Ah... POTR is back to the usual standards, I actually try to do some work today, stupid I know, and I'm already back two pages.

Sal, my place or Jed's. I have everything except the caliper tool.

Karts... Count me in. If I can get my big *** in one of them I'm game. That place is fun but it wears you out FAST !

Bill I don't know what to say. I think we all knew it was possible and hoping that they'd be safe. Still it doesn't soften the gut-punch. Really sorry to hear it. Good news if it can be called that, is that the hill to climb is just a little bit higher, then it's downhill the rest of the way.

Bill - At least the engine is out. Sorry to hear about the heads. This will be behind you in no time

POTR - sure glad that I have to stop work and briefly read so as to not fall behind

Karts sounds like fun. So... what's the plans for Saturday

Wow, two offers in one day......and one of them doesn't even KNOW IT YET!

Anyplace is fine with me....just whoever is the most comfortable with me scattering parts around for a couple hours.....I'll let you guys flip for who gets to torment me while I'm getting my hands dirty....

Hmmmm....I can feel an entertaining video spoof coming on.....at MY EXPENSE!

I'll be stopping by the shop after work today to check it out.
Bill
Did you ever think of ditching the block and heads and getting a crate motor new or used,Or are you going to try and fix what you have? Either way $$$. That s_cks.
This would make anybody sick of cars.

Bill I feel for ya. I can't imagine going through what you have with the TR. Your plight has really, really scared me when it comes to FI. I might have done it by now, but I'm really afraid I could be the 1 in 100 that ends up in your situation.

Dang Bill, that's bad news. It's hard to look at (but I can't look away).

Brian, thanks for dinner number 3. All care packages gone now.

Bill. That is terrible. I remember that dollar. Neither of us ever thought it would end up worth a dollar. Kind of a creepy foreshadow.

So, what was the cause of this carnage?

Usually when I've done a motor like this it's from excessive RPM
(then I turn the tattle tail back on the tach and claim ignorance)

Wow that tells the story right there sorry to see that the damage is complete in #8. Bill this can't be that big of a surprise considering what happened in that combustion chamber. Luckly its just one head not two with damage. What are your plans are you going to replace just one of the heads and keep them stock. Or replace both with ported & polished heads? I'm interested what the cam lobes look like over #8 from the looks of that one valve it looks bent from impact. I know you don't want talk about being intercooled but after looking at this I would do everything possible to prevent detonation. Not trying to be cruel I'm feeling for ya brother and I don't want to see a post like this from you again, let's get this ***** fixed and on to cruisin

Jed

You would be a great candidate for a 427 cobra jet, 460 big block or a 5.4 liter big block. If your going to spend money buy as much as you can for as little as you have to spend. Think big be big. Retrofit that supercharger onto something bigger. Don’t fall into the pitfall, think out side of the box. From all of your posts you strike me as someone who always looks at a bigger picture.

You can probably find some new take-off heads relatively cheap Bill....... Sorry about the block, etc. but I didn't think it would be worth much.
