the best part was that he provided an outsiders view on the mustang community, but NOT in a negative way. thats hard to find nowadays. he came here with a good attitude and was open to all our ideas. i guess some people werent kind enough to return the favor, so he left.
Besides, i wanted to see how his goat would come out in the and

i didn't wanna see that GTO, and sorry if i was part of the people who drove him away, but i clash with GM people.......
And theirs a guy here with a ton of firebirds whos real cool about our site, hes a great guy, his name is GMconvert
Doug, He was a man that owned a Goat, but he liked Mustangs as well. He never slagged us off, and was a really nice guy as well, your statement is ignorant, when you "own" a mustang, (given your propensity for changing loyalties), slag them off then, rather the the blase "I HATE GM", it doesn't wash with us.
I agree with James. Also I dont care if you are a die hard Honda Civic lover... if you can come here, have a intelligent conversation and not flame either side of the spectrum, you are more than welcome here in my opinion. Also from the other side, if someone comes here from a diferent background from msutangs, they will NOT be flamed, put down or talked trash to because of their choice in automobiles.

not really. i think he has a good point. any car enthusiast is welcome here as long as they arent here to bash and are here to hold intelligent conversations.
i wouldnt mind if there were honda fans here. as long as they dont bash my fave car and talk about how theirs are infinitely superior, i wont either. i wouldnt mind if we end up comparing and pointing out the strong/weak points of each car. we all have our own preferences. thatst what makes us all unique. which is good. i'd hate it if everyone was the same.
but as long as they act civil, so will I

Sorry Scott, but I have hard time believing that. Once you take non-Ford product side, everybody are against you.

Read what Arin posted below you. What he said echo's my beliefs as well as all the other staff here on TMS. If I sold my mustang right now and bought a F-body, you guys would all call me a traitor. However, I would still love mustangs and respect everything about them. I wouldnt have gotten an F-body because i hate ford, more because i probably got a great deal and the raw power of a LS1 is amazing.
If someone from a honda board got on here and tried to carry on intelligent convo's, then he's got my respect. Espescially for trying to come to a Mustang site and openly posting his non-mustant lineage (as our favored GTO owner did). I dont honestly look highly upon those who arent open minded enough to go try to learn about the other cars (their competition) and the people who drive them. Open your eyes, there's more to the world.
Signed,
The guy who has driven every style vehicle out there, GM, Ford, Domestic, (CDL required) Diesel, Import, Motorcycles, ATV's, Boats, and yes even got about 20 hours logged in small aircraft.
And while I am on the subject of closed minds..
People need to get take a step back and re-evaluate how they think sometimes. I've seen a few examples today on how someone doesnt like one style of mustang and in each chance they get, they go through and bash the car. No matter what the origional post was about, as long as that style was included, BAM they were there saying how it was crap. Thats not intelligent or even courteous. Thats plain ignorant.
But thats just my opinion. Now back to being admin.

What if I don't like Mustangs, Scott? I have no problem admiting that I'm not fan of 2005 Mustang. After really great concept, production model was very disappointed for me. Since I'm not American I don't really think the way "Build for Americans by Americans". But I've picked Ford mostly because design reminds me of European cars. Now, I lot of times I take other cars side. For example, I would always take 98-02 Trans Am WS6 side over most of 1990s cars. Or I would always take any classic Dodge over any other car. I would even take Ridgeline over F-150 (F250/F350 is different story). Did anyone respected my opinion when I took non-Ford vehicles side?

I agree with Scott and James 150%.
Doug....you don't just "clash with GM people" you probably take an aggressive stance against them because they own GM and they return it...and some of them may do the same to you. It happens a lot but if someone can come here and be respectful and have intelligent conversations then they are most welcome.
I drove a GTO about 2 months ago and you know what? I LOVED IT!!! FANTASTIC CAR!!! If I could get past the front end resembling a Grand AM and was in the market for a brand new car I would buy one! I would still have my Mustangs and still be a Mustang nut but that car is a fantastic ride....now if only Ford would bring the Falcon over from Australia!!!
It's narrow minded views that create friction...no matter which side they are from.
In the past I have owned as non-Ford products: '79 280ZX(Loved it, just rustbuckets), '81 Formula Firebird(decent car but a pig-handled well), '69 Camaro(regret the day I sold it!), '79 Cadillac Seville(My first car and I hated it), '84 Chevy Van(no complaints really), '69 LeMans convertible(400, 4 speed and a blast to drive! Regret that leaving as well!). But in large I am a Ford guy.....I joke around with Chevy guys but can still get along with them just fine....they have their love and we have ours. You must first SHOW respect to gain respect
.Like Scott I am diverse in my vehicle experience...grew up on the water off the Chesapeak bay so I have a lot of boat time both power and Sailboats...I prefer power boats but don't run around calling sailboat owners names. I had my private pilots license at age 16(Cessna 150/152/172). Been on Motorcycles, snow mobiles, Driven a Dumptruck & Rollback as well. I worked for Mercedes and drove every model they made at the time....VERY well built car and I WOULD own one in a heartbeat but I am still a Mustang Enthusiast.
Don't be narrow minded....just because you are on a Mustang Forum doesn't mean that nothing else exists and everything else is junk
