I don't end until 9pm Tuesday... haven't done any Christmas shopping, and will have to do after work Wed, Thurs, and Fri, and Saturday morning. Ugh.

Why is the SF Jax game the only one on my Tv right now? Indy is playing SD right now and Pukesburgh is playing Minnesota, at least they should've put the division game on TV... stupid networks can't get anything right when its a 4:00 game.

On the plus side, I'll get to see Alex Smith play and see if he is really as bad as his QB rating of 24.

Alright Arin, here's my analysis of SF:

Defense: looks pretty good

Offense: well, as far as their execution... I'm in favor of it.
Frank Gore looks pretty good, the WR's who can tell because Alex Smith looks like a rookie, a pee wee football rookie, his throws are either low, high, to the right or left of his receiver. I don't think Alex Smith is going to be a starting QB for very long, unless the Mike Nolan is trying to get fired and collect his contract money without having to work. I think he is much worse than Tim Couch ever was.

Sorry Arin, I hope I'm wrong... I've rooted for a bad team long enough, I don't want to wish that on anyone, except Pukesburgh and Baltimore fans.

lucky... you got to actually WATCH the game.. between tutoring and studying i got highlights from my dad and thats about it...

so i cant confirm nor deny ur Alex Smith comments, but good god, i want someone, ANYONE to step up and be a good QB for my niners. i wish i never drank my dads lucky bottle of Squirt... if i hadnt done that, steve young never woulda had his concussion and wouldnt have had to retire....

somewhere in the Midwest hopefully. basicaly anywhere with a solid mechanical/automotive engineering department

U of M, IIT, Northwestern, Purdue, etc

also im planning on applying to ALL the UC and State schools, just because i have a feeling i have a pretty good chance of getting into them.

the top three things im looking for in a school are:

Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
Latin
Football

in that order. ive pretty much decided i want to major in Mech Engineering, and Minor in Latin studies. and while im not all that great at football, i'd love to at least try and play it at a higher level. you never know till you try right?

my ultimate goal is to work for an aftermarket company like MRT, Roush, Saleen OR work for an actual car company (whichever i can get) like FoMoCo. after speding some time in that feild and gaing some experience i really want to be able to come back to California and start my own aftermarket company/hot rod shop or something like that.

and if i Minor in Latin, i can always fall back on that if everything else goes kaput. i really like latin, and i could actually see myself teaching it. maybe its because my Latin teacher is my biggest idol.

of course BOTH of those two careers would only happen if i dont get drafted into the NFL lol

like tahts ever gonna happen tho...

so yeah... thats pretty much it. if anyone else has any other good suggestions for colleges, please let me in on em i'd be very greatful

Well, Michigan sux because, well, because its Michigan.

Northwestern is a pretty good academic school, but don't know much about their engineering. And their football just won't be among the tops of the Big Ten that often.

Have a buddy who went to Purdue for his graduate degree in engineering, I think he was a mechanical engineer too. Smart guy, and I know he chose Purdue because of its quality program. But their football will always be second tier in the Big Ten.

I know The Ohio State University's engineering program seems to be pretty good. Two of my roommates were engineers, although Industrial Systems Engineers. One good thing I know about OSU's engineering program is they have a great Career Services Office. They got good co-ops and both had jobs in the automotive industry. One for a supplier for Honda, Ford, GM, Chrysler - he's moved on to another job in a medical field. The other works for GM now.
And of course, great football.

Can't speak of Latin departments -- its not something that is highly advertised at any school I'm sure.

Arin, you can work for me when I start my aftermarket company. :P

I am going to WVU-P for Mechanical Engineering/metal working/bronze casting. Then I'm either going to go to another college for automotive engineering, or start my own body shop.
