Had some blackened shrimp last night that was awesome. People with me had some calamari for an appetizer that looked delicious, but I didn't try it (I don't eat anything fried anymore). Did taste the sauce that came with it and it was killer, would like to have some of it to put on some chicken and grill it.

You could make tofu taste good if you could slow-smoke it. You can't though, because it ****s itself and turns to water.

Ribeye steaks cooked on our new smoker grill. Loaded baked potatoes, and fresh corn salad using my wife's secret recipe.

The steaks turned out awesome. My first time using this new grill and it was easier and tasted better than anything I ever cooked on our old grill. Used a combination of Applewood and charcoal and the flavor was just awesome.

Now I've got to head out to our local butcher tomorrow to pick up a good brisket. Going to do some good old fashioned Texas barbecue this weekend. 10 hours smoking on oak and then add Applewood for the final 2 hours.

Recon I'll throw me a ribeye on the grill here shortly, make some loaded mashed taters and broccoli to go with it. Like to have some fried okra, but I don't eat anything fried anymore. Got a bag of okra that came out the garden, just begging to be breaded up with some cornmeal and an egg and fried in an iron skillet in some blazing hot peanut oil, as bad as I want it, I'll have to pass. I know it'll make me sick, everything fried does now since I've quit eating it, but goodgodalmighty it would taste soooo good. For a few minutes at least, before i ended up on the ****ter, lol.

My wife has to work in OKC this week so I took time off and tagged along. We ate at Toby Keith's tonight and I had the chicken-fried steak sandwich, mashed red potatoes, and fried pickle and jalepeņos.

Sounds delicious, but I probably couldn't eat it. Its been so long since I've eaten fried stuff, I couldn't handle it, it would make me sick as a dog. I'd love to have some of it though.
