I'd say maybe you'll see a Spur while you are in SA but you wouldn't even know what one looks like
He loves country music, so I'm sure hes seen one before...

And the Great Lakes are beautiful, and hes seen some of that. Just not really the same though. The smell, the atmosphere, etc. is different.

If I'm living in Charleston next year during the 50th, you should take a few days and drive down there with me. It's not too far, and you'd love all the water, and the old downtown Charleston.

Charleston is a great city, so is Savannah, the food, atmosphere, and old South plantation feel is very well preserved. But the Atlantic and beaches in that area leave a lot to be desired for people looking for a tropical atmosphere. The Charleston/Savannah region is great for upper-class "foodies", people looking for historical buildings, people who want to relive the slave era of the South (although they are in for a surprise, those areas are overrun with gangs and African-American crime, not to be ugly, but you can't hide the truth as much as the media would like you to).

Cocoa beach is good, Daytona beach is good, ft lauderdale and Hollywood beaches are good, Pensacola beaches are good...having been to those, the beaches in Texas are a disappointment. South Padre is probably our best.

You must not have been on the Atlantic coast in a while. Daytona has turned in to a ****hole gangland, better have your CCW handy to shoot it out with the "brothers" (no offense, but that is what it is). Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood beaches aren't that bad, but they are nasty and the Atlantic is dirty. Pensacola is still nice, but not as nearly as scenic as the areas east of there with the white sands and emerald waters. And if you're going to head to that area, Perdido Key is nicer, and to save some money with the same beaches and water you'd be better off going to Gulf Shores, Al. I love Gulf Shores, used to own a place there. Laid back, more mature community, more relaxing, but still nice. But not quite as nice of beaches and water as places farther east toward Destin and farther on.

oh yeah, it's not the most picturesque tropical island sorta beach, but that whole area is fantastic! And as much as I know Nathan likes to take pics, he'll be happy.

Watching Season 7 of Dexter on Showtime OnDemand ... kinda hooked on this show ... didn't watch it for over a year while living with the now-evil ex-gf, but back in my own place for a couple of months now, cable service re-established, Dexter's back on!
