Wow George. What an amazingly insightful and knowledgeable post. You precisely stated what concerns me most right now. It's kind of like lemmings over the cliff. Everyone seems to be so excited for change, they aren't considering what's on the other side of that hill.

Edit: I'm not surpirsed of the quality of your post and comments George, its just that you are typically the quick wit, but I see you are also the sharp pen.

I also appreciate your sharing of the difficulty of the surroundings of your youth. It must have been a very strange way to start your life. I must ask, Deutschland or Italia?

I also get really irritated by people who compare Bush to Hitler. I admit he s no Ronald Reagan, but I as a conservative would never say Clinton was Stalin either. Why do these idiots exaggerate so. I wish they had some knowledge of the actual hell on earth Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tung actually were. These people killed millions upon millions and the first thing out of some of these liberal (communists) mouths is America is the worst country on the planet, we kill innocent people around the globe, etc. It's maddening!!!

If those were it my car enthusiasm would likely be for European sports cars rather than American muscle cars. It was Cuba. If you are interested in exactly what took place there I suggest you read Animal Farm which is a satire of the communist manifesto and blueprint. It is humurous yet precise and can be read in only a few hours and would make you better understand some of the present ideology being proposed for this country.

Once again George you are spot on. I swear you must be the smartest man on this forum...besides me.

Animal Farm is overlooked for the immense insight into communism and/or totalitarianism. I would cite Animal Farm as a must read. Especially for adults. I know not everyone will get it, but how can you argue with it. It's what really happens. It's an amazing insight. I guess some think of it as a 'children's book' because it has animals in it.

I can't beleive that you would cite the same book that I would advise for the same reasons.

Edit: Since you said Cuba, what do you do or think when you see these stupid, ignorant college kids wearing these **** Che Guevara t-shirts! What are these people thinking. It must really **** you off.

You know it really makes me feel better to see more educated people out there....it's really frustrating to see the "lemmings" (good example btw) just follow someone because they are a good speaker. It seems at times that few people actually research a candidate before striking a vote....all we here is "change, change, change"....but nobody when you ask them can tell you just WHAT that change is....so far I see an increase in Govt spending and taxes...yes it's "change" but certainly not what this country needs.

The other thing is that Obama is portraying himself as some sort of savior or God which is REALLY out there! Are that many Americans really asleep or more so in a coma that they can't see through the fluff?!?!

Here is a new ad from McCain addressing this.....regardless of the ad, the words Obama speaks in it are factually HIS words and speak volumes on their own! I found the use of Moses a funny follow up to his words though...

Obama is like an African American take on Jimmy Carter only with less executive experience, and we all know how that turned out.

And the whole 'Prophet' turn in very weird indeed.

Yes they are ignorant and oblivious to them ignorance is not cheap.

All they know about is the romantic myth proclaimed by his comrades. They know nothing about the savoring of torture and the enjoyment of the hundreds of thousands of killings by Guevara and the rest of them. If there is a metaphor for communists or socialists is sadists. Yet they are celebrated by those who want to implement a proven failed system on our home land.

Notice how Obama has very conveniently refrained from mentioning or complimenting these savages in the last couple of months.

Here is a video that I found to be good simply because of the them of "just words"....it's 13 minutes long but very much worth viewing....Watch what Obama says about "just words" yet he claimed reverend Wright's "words" weren't worth getting excited over....

Aside from the office of President we as Americans should be outraged at Congress. There was an article in Parade magazine showing how little they have done this term....out of two hundred some odd resolutions passed....over 70 were to change the names of post offices and 1 of them was a resolution to make June 30th National Corvette day!?!?! What in the hell business does congress have in even thinking about making a "National Corvette day"?!?

Then this...when it comes to the current issue about becoming less dependent on foreign oil the Democrats block it and object to it even if gas prices hit $10/gallon!!! We REALLY need to clean house in D.C.....these guys are so out of touch it isn't even funny anymore!

Early in my youth I lived under a totalitarian regime which came to power under false pretences, promising social and economic justice, a structural cultural change which would achieve equality for present and future generations. A great portion of the population rejoiced not only at the inspiring ideals but when it was effectively put into practice. What many failed to grasp was the "when you neighbor's house is burning, yours might be next" concept, which BTW, became a reality, all in the name of ill will and jealousy for those who happened to be better off and by subsequently declaring them as enemies of the state, substancial support was gathered. Do this approach sound familiar?

A lot of the rhetoric being promoted by Obama, his campaign, and powerful/wealthy supporters is an ordeal I experienced, endured, and survived mostly due to the generosity of this country, the same generous country being trashed on foreign soils by many so called patriotic Americans who have and will sacrifice this country's sovereignty in exchange for foreign public acceptance and support. This raises a red flag, in more ways than one.

In theory, illusions, hope, and ideals are elements which are viewed by many as necessary tools to sustain and progress where in practicality they not often provide the required solutions of our affairs, not much different as the pet rock which many fell for. For those with progressive inclinations their dreams might come true November 4th but they are being naive if they think they will be excempted from the proposed "changes" not knocking at their doors.

Knock, knock!
everyones got to read this! this is right on

Personally I think we are all So Disenchanted we Vote for Whoever we feel will not Screw up any worse our already Screwed up Political machine. We all want change but in the Back of our minds we Fear Change because we have lost all optimisim and confidence in our {so called representives}. I think there is a General Do Not Rock the Boat Mindset many have unconsciously adopted.

We as a People need to Get involved. Society has many of us Locked us into a Need a Bigger Bettter everything and we all spend so much time working and paying for things we do not have time to enjoy that we no longer have time to get involved with our Community, Our Country and our Families. We are all frustrated with what is going on in this world but how much time do we personally Spend trying to make it better.

We need a President that will INSPIRE Change in our Thinking not Just Our Governments Thinking. That is what we truly need. In the mean time we all need to do what we can everyday to make this Country this World a better Place. You do not even have to Look for a Grand Mission. It starts with simple Random acts of Kindness. It could be Helping the Elderly lady out putting her groceries in her car. It could be Letting someone into traffic when normally you did not even slow down. I challenge you to ask yourself in the moment whatever you are doing to think if you are part of the problem or part of the solution. Time is the Most Precious gift we have. Do not Waste it. I Challenge All to be a better {You}! Never Compare yourself to someone elses Achievments or Issues. You will never get anywhere that way. Just be a Better You! No Good or Noble Act goes unrewarded and visa versa.

MGB,

Kc

I agree with helping others...BUT. I have a problem with people that have entitlement issues. People who expect to get things becuause they believe they diserve them or have the right. That is when government needs to "cut the cord" on some people becuase they take advantage. I am not a big fan of Government welfare. I dont think its the Government's reponsibiliy...that is when "the church" should get involved and help people out with thier needs....my opinon.

I am.

Some at work have made the mistake of asking me how I can afford car payments and of course, the answer is government welfare.
