^haha, that's the truth

I believe it was John that had in his sig at one point "guns kill people like forks made rosie o'donnell fat, ban forks"

It's the people that kill each other, not the weapons. the bad thing is that some of them are so naive that they actually believe that if everyone that had a registered weapon were forced to turn them in, then gun crimes woud stop. For the most part, people who are killing other people with guns, those guns are not registered, they are stolen. And if you think that not selling guns to anyone is going to keep the bad guys from getting them, you're just a complete freakin moron. 99% of people with a CCW permit are people that know guns, are responsible with them, and know how to use them properly, not a 13 year old that has a bad breakup with his g/f and wants the world to know it kinda crap.

and it kinda goes along with being able to have guns in your home, if a thief thinks there's a possbility that there are guns in your home, theyre much less likely to attempt to break in, and often times its just the threat thats the main deterrent; like the racking of a shotgun, that sound is w/o doubt, you know whats going to happen, and a thief is going to haul @ss the other way, school gun crimes are less likely to be comitted when students dont know who is carrying and who isnt, as far as teachers and staff

You've got a good memory, yup, that was me.

"Guns are responsible for murders like forks are responsible for making Rosie O'donnel fat. Ban forks."

BTW the measure passed unanamously by the school board after citing no objections or concerns from any parents. Face it folks, Texas is normal, everyone else is nuts.

Sorry but I hate these comparisons. When was the last time you heard of a driveby baseball bat attack or drivebat knife attack? Simply put you can't compare guns to knives or baseball bats. If someone is coming after me with a knife or baseball bat, I can turn and run. If they had a gun, they don't even have to be within reach to harm me, can they shoot me in the *** from a long distance away, and through a door even. Yes people are stabbed to death and beaten to death, but those instances are very small compared to being shot to death.

It's just a fundamental difference in thinking. Our constitution, by amendment, gives us the right to bear arms. This is non-negotiable. We accept that some control must be placed that law-abiding, non-felon, sane people are permitted to have guns. The state of Texas allows that those specially trained and back ground checked individuals can carry those weapons on person in a concealed manner.

I'm sorry you don't like the knife arguement, but how about this.

The car arguement.

Far more people die in accidental car wrecks than by gunshot in the United States. Should we outlaw cars.

You then say cars are not the same as guns, a guns only purpose is to kill or wound another person, with exception of hunting guns.

I say that a gun's pusrpose is mutli-faceted, for criminals it is used to kill people, but for law-abiding citizens it is used to protect life and property. Outlawing guns for law-abiding people while criminals will still find and possess illegal guns, helps no one but the criminals. Our fore fathers gave us the right to defend ourselves.

That might present a conflict of interest.
Just make sure you don't get her upset.

Man....EVERY DAY!!!! Think of all those poor mailboxes!

I fully support this as well......Here in Alabama there is currently legislation in the works to allow CCW students and faculty carry on campus. I can promise you that at VA Tech it would not have gone nearly as far as it did if there had been a person with a CCW permit in the area!

I carry, I vote and proud to be an American!
