i have long preached that texas should become it`s own country .. i`d move in a minute .. they have every resoarce nescessary to be a self sufficient nation .. and some common sense officials

The ironic thing about corporal punishment is that schools had to stop paddling kids who act up because paddling was too violent... (whaaa, whaaa, whaaa ) ... and now kids have discipline problems and teachers have to carry guns at school.
Talk about coming full-circle.

I'm all for owning guns. But where should they be allowed? Every where, by any one, at any time?

 

In the car tonight my wife, a teacher in Texas, said she would love to be able to carry. She never feels safe with the people that constantly come on to campus illegally. I swear her school must be next door to a mental hospital or something. But you get the typically angry divorced father and crap like that. But everyone knows that the schools have no guns, so if you are going to commit a crime at a school you've got a good chance of wreaking great havoc because its nothing but a bunch of unarmed women and little kids to stop you.

 

I'll consider your point if you find cases of CCW permit holders being the people 'going postal.' CCW people tend to be the more responsible gun owners who respect the responsibility, the weapon, and and the consequences of deadly force. Cases of gun crimes by CCW permit holders are far and few between.

I've said for a long time that the solution isn't less guns in schools, it's more guns in the hands of the right people. We have armed guards at banks protecting our money, but nothing more than a janitor wit a broomstick protecting our children. What's more important?

Yes, accidents can happen with guns and there are irresponsible people who own them. But if someone takes the responsibility seriously enough to get their CCW, then 99 times out of 100 I will welcome them being guarding the life of my child. It's all about costs and benefits, and I think it's a lot more likely to have an irresponsible middle-school kid with a gun than it is to have a irresponsible teacher who has the proper qualifications to carry a life saving weapon.


If anyone hasn't figured it out, I support this.

 

Remember when no one wanted the pilots to have guns in the cockpit? They said the terrorists would know where to get the gun to use on the passengers. I think we all agree now that it's OK for pilots to have guns now.

Or how about if just one of those faculty at Columbine or Virginia Tech had a conceal carry permit? In our state everyone remembers the wack job that drove his truck through a Luby's window and started shooting people, BTW he didn't have a conceal carry permit. If any of those people had had a gun, maybe, just maybe, some lives could have been saved. How many more people have to die so the liberals can feel safe from thoroughly back ground checked citizens?

WTF. Liberals always argue the same old guns kill people crap and if we didn't have guns there would be no murder. Ever heard of knives? Knives kill people. Oh crap, let's outlaw knives. Ever heard of baseball bats?
