Ran into this on my way to work this morning.. caught it on my car-cam.

Unfortunately this video is pretty uneventful and then the view gets blocked by a fire engine.. which may be a good thing because you can hear the garbage truck explode at the end (and shake my car from the force of the blast..)

This was on Tuckerman Ln, in Rockville, MD.

 

nice vid, what cam setup were you using?

the explosion sounded like maybe an aerosol can or something got overheated and pop inside teh containor. Ive heard them in a dumpster fire like that before and its real similar.

and i feel like it was something more than a can, but i've never heard an aeresol can explode so i can't say for sure. but i definately felt the blast nudge my car and it made me jump in my seat.

the cam setup is just a regular USB camera clipped on my driver's sun visor, that's connected to my car-puter. (black/silver circle in pic below)
