Loving in the sticks hughesnet satellite is about ny best option. It's completely sucked for a long time but yesterday they came it and upgraded mine to the new gen4 satellite. I'm on the lowest package cause it was cheaper and I don't work from home. Ping times are a tad better but transfer speeds are incredibly faster than before. Still not as great as a true broadband but a much less suicidal browsing expeirence. Oh and log me in works now too.

I don't know how far San Marcus is from him but 68ms is sad, when its in the same state. I can get a faster response from New Jersey to here.

theres so many variables, honestly anything under 100 for browsing and email is fine.

I dont think his speeds are out of wack, usually ISP's do plans like 10 down 1 up, 20 down 2 up, 30 down 3 up etc.. 25 / 2.5 isnt bad at all imo and the ping isnt bad either. Im sure he can ping google and things of that nature much quicker. just depends on the load on the test server as well as all the other variables between him and there. Id kill for it at home lol.

You guys kill me! Nathan is the only one with worse speeds than I get. Need to spend more time over at my "friend's" house, think I get 16 down there, lol.

 

So Scothew or any other IT pros. My computer is acting up. Wifi also. And I get a couple calls from an unlisted number. Finally answer it and it's an Indian guy claiming I am having problems with my windows operating system and I need his help by all means. All I'm thinking is hacker. Really don't use my home pc or know much about it. Any thoughts?
