Can you Guess ???????
OK well first it gets fluffed up, then it goes through a picker which removes all the vegetation. It comes out of the picker in bales. The carder lines up the fibers and flattens it evenly. Each roller has finer and finer teeth and it comes out in really thin slivers (strings) so it can be spun.
Yeah sure, I knew all that all along......
But I guess I know it now....

Since it's not a water pump, you say supplies power to cotton mill in barn, I see a power takeoff on the side by the flywheel...humm. Is it a old Geo thermal (steam) engine power plant?
i belive now that you are correct .. i thought it was a giant " hit and miss " diesel engine but a co-worker said it was a steam engine .. it does sit near a river and has a ditch dug in its direction which also turned a griss mill .. it`s just down the road from where i live ..
