Can you Guess ???????
Can You Guess or Do you Know What Terminology from the Late 1800's about this device Became a Popular Catch Phrase in the Late 60's and is Still Popular and in Use today! Lots of People use this Catch Phrase and have no Idea what it really Means.

The phrase "Give em' the whole nine yards" comes from an infantry unit in the South Pacific, while trying to defeat the enemy. Squads with the 30 caliber, water cooled machine gun, used belt feed ammunition that came in 27 foot lengths. Hence when confronted with well entrenched, or over-whelming odds, the expression came to be known when they fired the whole length of ammunition belt at the enemy.

Correct ! Also when a Steam Locomotive Was at Max Throttle it was described as ***** Out Because the faster the Engine went the Farther Out the Weights would go. People Think the Term has a whole Different Meaning. Now you know lt is not an Offensive term. Next time you Hear somebody use either Term, Ask them if they Know what it Really Means!
