I try to take care of my car, an '85 Caprice Classic. I pay very close attention to all normal maintenance, and check oil/pwr steering/brake/battery/washer/coolant/tire pressures monthly. Sometimes I also take the air cleaner cover off (it's carbureted) to clean crap off the filter, and see how dirty it is.

The last time I did this, about two months ago, I noticed the breather filter element had popped out of its holder and was halfway across the airbox. The breather connects to a hose through a hole in the airbox, and has a little filter that sits in a holder. So I put it back in, and didn't think anything of it.

Yesterday, while checking the car again, I took the airbox cover off again. That piece of dog crap breather filter was hanging out on the other side of the airbox again! I decided to do something about it this time.

A few holes poked with an awl and two twisty ties later, it wasn't ever coming out again. Dumb thing.

I know! My dad wants to take it back and get a new one...that's too much trouble, now I've modded it! Plus, there's a good chance the new one will be crappy, too.

actually it wasnt more of a taser than it was "hot wire that burns like heck"

i thought it was a taser. what can i say, i was young

i put a D size duracel battery, had the main part of the curcuit be an exposed copper wire, and rigged a switch wuth Aluminum foil. tested it on the back of my hand! probably pretty high up on the list of stupid things ive done. Crap! still hurts thinkin about it

and to think, i want to build cars! wheee. dont worry. ill do that right. of course all the cars i build will be rigged to cause extreme confusion and frustration to scott, and anyone else who bugs me just remember, all cars will be Arinmobiles in the future. its right up there with my "own the whole freakin world" plan. plus since i plan to buy every worthwile company anyway, Scott cant escape! i've got you now! MUWAHAHAHA..ha...ha...

prolly shouldnt have let the whole world know that yet.

No, but one time while half asleep, I unscrewed a lightbulb, stuck my finger into the socket, and turned it on. I woke up real quick.

Now for something ON topic, I once made angle brackets out of aluminum and used gyprock screws to hold a bumper onto a frame...obviously the bumper nor the frame were in great shape...lol
